Here is my second post about flying its my first time flying since 9/11 and i have alot of questions so here i go............

1. how many carry on bags are you allowed ?
2. how do you travel with liquids such as shampoo , conditioner, etc ?
( i was thinking of shipping a box directly to the resort would this be a good idea?)

3. My camera has a rechargeable battery that i put in a charger can i take that in board with me

4. How big of a suitcase can be checked in and what are the fees or does it go by airline?

i have more just cant think of them right now thanks again for you help

If you check the specific web page of the airline which you will be flying, it will answer all of your luggage questions (size, # of carry-ons, etc.).

The TSA web site explains what is allowed and prohibited in both checked and carry-on lugagage, as well as the 3-1-1 rule:

http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm

1. Most (domestic) airlines allow each passenger a carry on bag plus a personal item (ie a carry on bag and your handbag). The bags must fit either under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment.

2. Carry on liquids must be in containers holding 3oz or less and fit in a 1 qt ziplock bag(zipped up). Each passenger is allowed 1 bag hence the "3-1-1" rule. Liquids are considered any substance that cannot hold its shape without a container so, for example, a solid deoderant doesn't count but gel deoderant does.

3. Yes, you can carry it with you.

4. Bag sizes are somewhat airline specific as are baggage fees. Check your airline's website for their rules.

Hope this helps!:thumbsup2

Edited to add: next poster is correct in that you can bring as much liquid as you wish in your checked luggage. The 3-1-1 rule applies to liquids in carryons only - stuff you want to be sure you have in case your luggage is late (like toothpaste!)

We put shampoos, lotions, etc. right in our checked luggage. You can put it in a large ziplock if you like. How much do you plan to bring that would need a box? Seems like an added expense you probably don't need to have. As others have mentioned, your specific airline can give you their policies for luggage size.

I take the travel size of all my toiletries; that way I can throw away the containers as I use them up and don't have to take them all the way home. You can find shampoo, hairspray, deodarant, toothpaste, baby powder, etc. all in travel sizes.

Also, the resorts have shampoo; conditioner; soap; and hand cream.

Prior to 9-11 (nothing to do with 9-11) a tipped skycap would let an overweight bag "slide". An airline employee might even let a bag that's 4-5 lbs overweight slide. Most airlines have a weight limit of 50 lbs. They might let 51 lbs slide but that's about it.

Old luggage might weight 15-20 lbs empty. Many people need new luggage. I'd get a 26 or 27 roller bag. A bigger bag will make current airline size standards but would be easy to be overweight when packed.
