First time dress shopping: opinions appreciated!

Went to the dress shop for the first time tonight (Davids Bridal), and aside from the consultant (if she could be called that), I found a couple dresses I liked. I learned more about her and her wedding than she about me or my wishes. Ugh! Anyways, would love some feedback on the dresses I tried on!

Personally, I think #'s 1, 4, and 6 look absolutely gorgeous on you (though, they all look good). #4 would have to be my favorite.



I refuse to try on wedding dresses in David's because of how annoying they were when my best friend got married last summer. She's already bought her dress from the very same store, and the whole time we were doing bridemaid's dresses, they kept trying to talk her into buying another gown. But, that's commissioned sales for you.

i personally like the shape that #2 gives you. It makes you look tall (i know your standing on a pedestal) I like how the beading and lace is small and draw some attention to the waist but not a lot.

Sorry your shopping experience wasn't the fun time it should've been! I used to be a bridal consultant and LOVED when first-time shoppers came in. It was so much fun to work with girls who were so excited to have that "princess" feeling trying on gowns for the first time.

The dresses you posted are all very nice, but I really love #4 on you. It's very flattering. I know #5 is a similar style, but the layered organza in front seems to shorten your torso somehow and I like the soft sweetheart neckline on #4 vs. the straight one on #5.

#3 is my second favorite, and #1 is my third (love the bodice but the skirt not quite as much) but I really love the way #4 looks and fits you.

And your nephew is the cutest thing EVAH!! I looooove little boys (it's been a long time since I had one and I miss it so much!).

I had a horrible experience at Davids too. I thought it was because I was a plus size bride. Do not let it damper your spirits.

I love all of them on you but 2 is my favourite but then I am a fan of plainer gowns. You have a wonderful figure and number 2 really shows it off!!

I like the skirt of number 1 and the top of number 4! So my vote is for 1 or 4. But they all look lovely on you. Due to your experience are you going to at least try another store?

I really like #3 and #6. I really like #3...it's so classic. But honestly, you look great in all of them!

I felt the same way about the consultant I had when I went to DB last summer. Any chance you went to the one in Manchester? Mine talked about her wedding the ENTIRE time. And they put me in dresses I didn't like...like, bizarre dresses that they said no one would ever try on. Weird.
