I've been a WDW alum for a while now, but its time to go to where it all started. My wife and I are looking for a cheap and CLEAN hotel (under $100) within walking distance to DisneyLand. Just wondering if anyone can give us some suggestions. (I have already come across the Astoria Inn and Suites and the Radisson....just looking for more ideas)

You might try the Park Vue. It's right across the street, and it's rather inexpensive. This is according to travel guides you can get @ Mickey Ds. We stayed @ the Park Inn (now the Camelot) which is across the street also, pretty nice. Great place to watch the fireworks @ the pool.

Good luck and have fun.

We like the Desert Inn and Suites and the Tropicana, the former being cheaper. Both are clean and close, right across the crosswalk. We have gotten the DI for $59 a night and the Tropicana for $89.

The following places are all fine places to stay with in walking distance. Depending on when you are going many can be had for under $100

Camelot Inn (Formerly Park Inn)
Carousel Inn
Tropicana
Best Western Park Place Inn
Desrt Inn and Suites
Best Western Anaheim Inn
Candy Cane Inn
Portofino Inn and Suites
Jolley Roger
The Anabella

A little less nice but okay
The Park Vue
The Del Sol
The Castle Inn
The Alpine

First I would suggest you absorb Trip advisor....they rank all the hotels/motels and have feedback from us, the patrons...Ive used them for years....what I do is look at all the ratings and choose a place, read the comments and then do a search for their website to check prices...its a great website...here is the link

www.tripadvisor.com :thumbsup2

We stayed at Desert Inn and Suites less than a year ago and it was VERY clean and had new paint, mattresses, etc. It's directly across the street from Disneyland- you just walk straight across the street.

We have stayed at Alamo Inn, Anaheim Plaza, and Ramada Maingate. We also were at Park Side Inn and Suites, for about 5 min *IT WAS AWFUL!!* :sad2: We transferred to another hotel (Ramada) after seeing the room Thank goodness there was some where else to stay, or I would have slept in the car!

Alamo Inn was clean and OK, but it is on the Katella side, more in front of DD. It is a good 15min walk to get to the park. We walked through DD and took the monorail over to DL. I think we paid $55/night.

Anaheim Plaza was clean and OK, had a big heated pool, a pretty good view from the balcony of the fireworks, although that depends on the room. It is on Habor 1 block down from crosswalk to DL entrance. It is about a 5 min walk. It was about $59/night.

Ramada Maingate was clean and pretty OK. It was more expensive, around $125/night, but we didn't get the chance to search for a "deal" so you may be able to get it cheaper. The price difference between the hotels was a little much since Ramada was not twice as nice as the other two hotels, but was more than twice the cost. Of course it may be beacuse we didn't get to search for a"deal". They have a nice pool area and it is a heated pool. No good views of fireworks that I could see. It is on Harbor and a little closer to the entrance than Anaheim Plaza, not quiet a 1/2 block or so.

We really only cared about having a clean place to rest from being out and busy all day. All three of these hotels are fine for that. Just be careful of the hotels claims to be "across the steet from DL", because they are, but there may not be any way to get in! IMO, hotels on Harbor, north of Katella, would be your best bet, with Tropicana being right in front of the crosswalk.

A really cheap place to stay with really great reviews is Anaheim's best inns. Its off sight but if you are willing to take a shuttle to the park which is extremely handy as the shuttle stops right at the inn, then its totally worth it.

I always like to caution people about being very specific about what they want. Do you want to stay at a "Hotel" or will a "Motel" or motor Inn do ?

We really enjoyed the Tropicana. Very clean, recently remodeled rooms, wonderful staff and about a 3-5 minute walk to the turnstiles. They also have a small but nice pool area with plenty of chairs and towels and an oversized spa. They provide a free, very basic breakfast. Its a motel but in an incredible location that can't be beat! They often have very good rates, try Expedia as well, thats where I got a great deal there.

Don't forget to add in the 15% (I believe that is what it is now) hotel/motel tax. That can add up quick on a room that is $100 per night.

Alpine Motel is okay. Price is right.
Jolly Roger is expensive and horrible.
I've heard bad things about Castle Inn (but when I stayed there about 10 years ago it was ok)
Candy Cane was nice but pricey I could spend a small amount more and get a real nice place.
Many people recommend the Howard Johnsons. I think that I will be trying that one next trip.

We always stay in Anaheim Plaza, it' s clean, and you can request a refrigerator in the room. Under $100.00 depending on the season and day. It's right accross the steet from the Symba parking lot entrance. There is a light at the corner that the hotel is on (Harbor), and once you cross the street you are on Disney property, and a nice short block walk. Maybe 10 min to gate to hotel. You can drive yourself crazy looking at hotels and prices, there are so many to choose from. We have stayed in all different ones. But in the last few years we stay in Anaheim Plaza. MB

I booked Best Western Park Place Inn at the walkway into Disneyland for $89. The Best Western 4 doors down wlithout breakfast for $80. Both Close.
