We just recently returned from a 6 day 5 night stay at Beach Club with 3 three park days planned. We have a daughter that was approved for a DAS pass and in addition to that we were able to select 2 fast passes for each park day and had a preview for Tiana's. Unfortunately our daughter was " having difficulties" for 2 of the 3 planned park days so on these days my wife and I took turns staying at the resort with our one daughter while one of us went to the parks with our other daughter. We were not able to make use of any of the fast passes nor did we make it to Tiana's preview. Our daughter did have one "ok day" and she was able to make use of the DAS pass for three attractions on that day but not the fast passes. If we were not approved for DAS and had to purchase Genie + it would have been waste of money on top of the cost of the park tickets not used by her. DAS pass has to get approved every 120 days and if in the future she is not approved we may have to seriously consider selling our DVC contracts and look at other options for vacations. I am sure there are others in the same boat as us.

I have a disability, not one which qualifies for DAS. I appreciate the alternative options have been created for people in my situation.

We literally just bought DVC so aren’t considering selling, but given my condition, we aren’t “park commandos” either. Just comes with the territory of being disabled.

I hope that as things are ironed out, your daughter will continue to qualify.

If your decision to own hinges on DAS, then you should have an exit plan for sure. I am not saying DAS is going away or anything like that but DAS is not part of your DVC contract and could go away at any time. If DAS going away or materially changing would make you not want your DVC contract anymore, then you have something to think about.

My grandson is autistic and we have good days and bad days… you roll with it. He’s torn because he loves Disney but can’t manage the surrounding sensory activity.
DAS is great because it allows you to not give up and expose him to life circumstances. Every visit we make progress which transfers to every day life. Don’t worry what other people think if a melt down occurs. Long story…we thought about selling DVC after a few bad trips. It’s amazing how far my grandson has progressed in the last 3 years.
You might want to focus on Epcot visits. It seems to have a relaxed Vibe which got us through some rough trips.

We use DAS as well. And I also worry about him not qualifying at some point. I don't think that would make us sell our DVC points. But it would definitely change how we tour the parks and the length of our vacations as well.

It was at Epcot that our daughter was up for being at the park, she rode ratatouille twice and the frozen ride once.
