I knew there was a dining rotation, but I had know idea you had any say into what it was. Can someone explain this to me. I will be on the 7 night western in Feb of 2006. Since this is my first cruise I will just go with whatever it is, but I am curious about how it works. Thanks

I feel that dinning rotations are one of the things that you really don't need to worry about. DCL will take your request ... and remember - It's only a request!! This really is one area that I feel people need to "let go".

So what if you're in Parrot Cay for formal night. You still will have fabulous servers, the food will still be awesome, hopefully you've made friends with your tablemates so the company will be good. So what if you're dressed in a tux and there are parrots and bananas hanging from the ceiling!! Some people are "wierded out" by the idea of being in Animators Palate for formal night. Heck what more formal than Black and White?? (the room doesn't change color on formal or semi formal night) The walls are black and white and so are all of the chairs - so the room is already formal (ok, so there's "grafitti" on the walls - but it's Disney!!

Things to know about dinning - In order of importance
1) Seating: Main (6:00) or Late (8:30)
2) Rotation: Which dinning room that night. On the Magic the restaurants are: Lumiere's, Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay so the three rotations are LAPLAPL or APLAPLA or PLAPLAP and on the wonder the restaurants are: Tritons's, Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay so the three rotations are TAP or APT or PTA. If you are on the 4 night cruise DCL reciently changed to having the first 2 nights in the same restaurant (ie. TTAP, AAPT and PPTA) BEFORE Pirates Night the rotation on the 4 nighter was TAPT, APTA and PTAP.
3) Table Number: (same table number in all of the dinning rooms)
4) Your Serving Team: they will be with you for all of your rotational dinning
5) Your Tablemates: Most families will share a table with other families. They will be with you for dinner in all of the rotational dinning rooms (so get to know them - you have 3 to 7 nights to make new friends)

I requested a dining rotation for my Western cruise. I had a suite and the REAS package and still didn't get the one I had requested. It wasn't a big deal, though. I just went to the assigned location (same place they take Palo reservations) and asked if they could change it. They did and we had a great time. We had the APLAPLA rotation which put us in Lumiere's for both formal and semi-formal nights and Parrot Cay for Pirate Night. Perfect!

Thanks for the info. Since this is our first cruise I will just go with the flow.
:cool1:

I called DCL this morning and requested a specific rotation, but it's not a "biggie" if I don't get it. I figured it couldn't hurt to request it!
