DH, myself and DD (celebrating 6th birthday)will be on our first Disney cruise. Disney wonder Galveston to Puerto Rico (repositioning) 1/4/16. I just upgraded to a one bedroom concierge room! Impart your words of wisdom and "insider"info on me! TIA!

OMG, you will love it. I sailed a Panama Cruise 15 nights and my second cruise I decided to go concierge. Hubby and I dont like crowds, he is a bit claustrophobic, and loved it. We were treated so nicely, the uncrowded areas were great. We had so much food in the lounge we often didnt go to lunch or breakfast. The little extras were nice as well. You will love it. Great choice, enjoy. We are going in 2 weeks. I was able to book a 3 night for our 25th anniversary, we are sailing in a Royal Suite. He has no idea, it is a surprise I cant wait. Have fun!!!

That's awesome! Hubby is the same way so I'm so glad we got one. I can't believe I got him to agree to a cruise in the first place so I want to make sure he likes it! Congrats and have a great trip!

You are going to love it!! We just sailed the Wonder concierge a couple of weeks ago. The Concierge Hosts are amazing and will take care of anything that you need. We enjoyed the nightly cocktail hours (free drinks - woo hoo) and also the free coffee drinks in the Cove Café.

Let me know if you have any specific questions about the Wonder since it is different than the other ships Concierge offerings.

What do I recommend for tipping on the ship? What dress codes should I expect? Will cm book our ticketed events on embarkation or do I email them early? Other than the reception, coffee and staff what else do I need to make sure I know about "perk" wise? I think I read something about priority on and off boat?

The concierge host had tickets for us to both the Princess Meet and Greet and the Frozen Meet and Greet without us even asking. But if you want to make sure they are there, ask Shoreside Concierge to make sure they are included.

You will have priority boarding on the day you board the ship. Plus I think you can get priority tender boarding if you port someplace that you tender (but we didn't try it ourselves). We didn't need it in Cabo. By the time we were ready to get off the ship, we were able to just walk straight to the tender anyway.

On the day we disembarked, it was a total mess and luckily our host happened to come by as we were trying to figure out the end of the line and he walked us almost to the front. If you need to be off early, definitely check with them in advance to see how you should handle it.

You will have a concierge reception when you first board the ship. At that time, the host will go over everything with you and give you a packet that includes your tickets, daily schedule, number to reach him/her, etc. That is the perfect time to go over anything else you might need. Ex. my dd doesn't drink soda so our host asked what she liked (lemonade). Later that day there were 4 glasses of lemonade (covered) waiting in the refrigerator for her.

Awesome! Thank you! I will come up with a list and get with shoreside concierge. We will be celebrating dds 6 bday. She doesn't know yet!

Most people tip over the normal amount to the concierge staff. There was a discussion a while back and I think the average extra pay was around $100.00. Can anyone confirm how much extra they tip their concierge staff.

We figure $10/day per concierge host. We then generally round up to the next whole increment. $100 for 3 days and $140 for a 4 day (we've only done 3 & 4 day sailings to date). We generally aren't very needy and don't get to know our hosts all that well but would plan on over tipping if something truly exceptional happened.

We've stayed concierge on both the Fantasy and the Wonder. It certainly spoils you for future trips. I highly recommend using the shoreside concierges to book your dining, excursions, and spa appointments as well. They were very helpful. The Fantasy has a dedicated lounge, so we got used to a daily trip there in the morning for coffee, and drinks before we went to dinner. The concierge on the Wonder came to our room daily to check in with us and make sure we had everything we needed. He also made sure our fridge was stocked with water, and sent a daily afternoon treat for us. You definitely get priority boarding, and then they wish you right away to the lounge where they have a small buffet, and you can have a drink and relax while your concierge goes over your itinerary with you. Your room is usually ready before 1 as well and you can go right to it. You also get help when you are leaving the ship as well. Enjoy...wait till you see the jacuzzi tub in the suite's bathroom!!!
