First time cruiser here What is Atlantis?

I'll be going in August with my niece's two children (3 and 6) and my daughter (23) and we would like to do something interesting in Nassau, is this Atlantis in Nassau? There is an aquarium there? Where can I find information about this. Thank you all! Can't wait, this is my first cruise ever!

I've never been myself but my friend went and said it's a gorgeous resort that would, I feel, be worth exploring! I've seen commercials on TV for it and DH and I plan to go and stay there on vacation sometime soon. My friend said that it was so nice, there was no need to leave and go elsewhere!

Thank you both for the link which I did go into but someone here mentioned something about a Day Stay at this resort? Since I'm going on the 3-day I just wanted to see aquarium and look around, can this be done anyway? Also, has anyone tried their Sushi Restaurant?

just got back from 3 day Wonder cruise last week....DW and I took a taxi to Atlantis and spent the day there. We purchased wristbands in the casino enabling us to explore "The Dig", an attraction encompassing various rooms and aquariums with an archealogical theme - we felt this was well worth the money at $25.00 pp. My advice would be not to purchase the guided tour-from our observation it seemed as though the guides rushed the tour along at too fast a pace - also, you can tag along behind a tour and listen anyway all for less $

we did not eat at Atlantis,as we heard the restaurants were pricey.Instead, we ate an early brunch, and then left the ship.
