Family just returned home from our first ever cruise, not just DCL. I was apprehensive about cruising but was absolutely impressed with the experience. Want to thank these board for the wealth of information we got from them. Will provide a trip report when we get a chance but would be happy to address any questions anyone would have. We also visited Kennedy Space Center yesterday after disembarking. Growing up in awe of the space program it was emotional to see Atlantis on display.

Looking forward to reading your trip report. We did the western carribean cruise last year on the fantasy and are now looking at booking the eastern carribean cruise on the fantasy. We luved the fantasy are are just too scared to book one of the other DCL ships incase we are disappointed. the planning process has begun for us so would luv to read your thoughts about the eastern and any activities your family completed.

First of all glad to hear you had a great trip! We too are thinking of going to Cape Canaveral after our cruise since we have an evening flight. So I would love to hear about your experience. In particular we'll have an 8 yet old and 4 1/2 yr old at the time and I'd love to get tips on what's best for the younger one. TIA!

Yes tears in my wife and my eyes when the reveal happened. Eight year old daughter did not understand why were emotional.

We had an evening flight also that departed at 6:00. We were at KSC by 9:30. Honestly wish we had more time. We could not see everything we wanted to. Basically hit the key spots we wanted which was the Mercury and early space travel pavilion, the bus tour, the Apollo/Saturn V building and then Atlantis. We left at 3:00 to get to MCO and could have easily spent several more hours seeing the rest and the IMAX movies. Ticket also includes entry to the Astronaut Hall of Fame.

They do have some interactive things in the Atlantis building that your older child would enjoy. The younger child will probably not enjoy the experience.

Fantasy 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary is by far our favorite one so far. We've done it three times. I think heading out on our own to St. John is what we love most about it. If only the ship did not leave St. Thomas so early.

I realize this is an older post, but how did you arrange the KSC on disembark day? Was it an excursion through a private company that held your luggage while you toured or did you rent a car for just the one day? We are thinking of doing this on disembarkation day as well. We are not pressed for time because we don't fly out until the next day. Son is 8 and daughter will be 6. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
