First Time Contacts Users?

I'm going to the eye doctor next week (for the first time in about 6 years. I've had appointments since then, but my parents have always ended up canceling them for some reason. ) and am seriously thinking about getting contacts. But, are they hard to put in? And do they bug your eyes out really bad?

I'm going to keep my glasses too and get stronger lenses on those so I'll have them too until I'm more used to how the contacts feel, know how to put them in/take them out better, etc. I've just never had them before...and I don't really know what to expect.

So...how was it the first time you guys got contacts?

it was 2 years ago and i was uber nervous! but my eye docter helped me get them in. it took me 2 trys and they were in. i am so happy i got contacts they make my life a hell of a lot eaiser.

It took me awhile to get them in, and so for that reason I got the disposable ones. Its important to have your hands really clean so you don't get anything on the lense that could irritate you eye.

I was thinking about getting contacts, too.
I'm waay to scared though to touch my eye.

J.W, those who have contacts is it easy to take the contacts OUT of your eye?

Yep, I found it easier to get them out, versus putting them in.

The only thing you have to be careful of is not scratching your eye with your nail getting them out, so I've kept mine short for that reason.

All you do is pull down on your lower lid and with your middle finger pull down and to the side with the contact. HTH!

i just use my fingertips and pinch my contact out.

I got contacts last year..
I found them so easy. Putting them in got easier the more I did it, and taking them out, you just need to lightly pinch your eye and *grab* the contact lens.

I don't wear them much anymore, becuase I think my glasses suit me more. :]

I got contacts 3-4 years ago. I had an easy time learning how to use them. I now love them and hate glasses.

I got them about two years ago. At first I didn't wear them much cause I had trouble putting them in. But now I wear them almost every day and I have no problems with them.

I LOVE my contacts. It was a little awkward putting them in at first - I almost gave up. However, I'm so glad I didn't. Within a few weeks I got used to putting my finger in my eye. Practice ahead of time by holding your eye open and putting your finger as close to it as possible without blinking. I recommend finding a spot on the wall or something to focus on, and try to do it without a mirror (always needing a mirror to fix your contacts is an inconvenience).

As for taking the contacts out, just lightly pinch. I usually pinch mine together and have to carefully peel the edges apart after. As long as you don't sleep in them, they're easy to get out (if you do accidentally go to sleep with your contacts in, don't take them out the next morning - leave them in for the next day at take them out in the evening).

im in the same boat. i can touch my eye and stuff. but idk how to get them out!!?!!
