Hi friends,

I’m splurging on my husband’s 40th Birthday and got us Concierge for the first time! From reading the forums here I know that you email your requests ahead of time.

I want to get the most out of concierge but also not seem like the highest maintenance person on the boat lol.

Are any of your willing to share an example of the email that you’ve sent? Not looking for anyone’s secret tricks or anything, so feel free to omit those. I just want to get a sense of how to format or what type of things to include.

Thanks!

I tried to screenshot mine...let’s see if it comes through 🤪

Things I like to request:
Pillows from the pillow menu, I liked an always cold pillow
Drinks for the mini fridge - gingerale in case of seasickness and orange soda for my husband since it’s his favorite. Also bottled water since I’m always thirsty it was nice to have in the room
Adult dining - Remy and Palo. I like to have them on the nights of the MDR I don’t like or on pirate night so I put that in my request
MDR - I put which one I like the best so I’ll be in the most times. They’ve also called me to figure out the perfect rotation with my other dining options
Drinking classes - I particularly like mixology, but there’s a few others I’ve tried.
excursions - any excursion I want to do I put in my email
If you have one of the bump out cabins I request loungers for the balcony
If on Fantasy they have a Be Our Chef in Palo where you cook that was a lot of fun

Following the previous post, I’ll add that mileage will vary :

- last time we requested a specific pillow, we were told to ask our stateroom attendant
- for the last 3-4 cruises, we were told that they would not replace drinks in our fridge and directed us to the lounge to restock our preferred soft drinks and water.

If you like a specific alcoholic beverage, you can ask them to stock it in the lounge for happy hour. It can be a champagne they have onboard, or a spirit bottle.

We usually request in advance the rotations grid, so we can choose which rotation we would prefer. We also request a table location in one specific dining room. Since your table number follows you in each MDR, they will accommodate one and the rest will be based on that.

We mention if we are celebrating a special event and, if so, on what night we would like it to be mentioned.

Like the others, we also request dining time, excursions (including which cabanas we prefer - 3-8 for us -, spa appointment, specialty dining, activities times if it is a SWDAS/MDAS cruise and other onboard activities.

Draft your email and send it exactly at midnight on the required day, or use a scheduler to send it, especially if you request a cabana. Everything else shouldn’t be a problem.

We asked for a specific waiter; got him.

And we asked for the curved booth table in the center of Enchanted Garden on the Dream. Again, done - with our waiter. I hope we weren’t too far from his station!

It was nice getting a Cabana on Castaway Cay, instead of the usual letdown at midnight on Excursion booking night when they are all gone, snatched up by those Concierge guests. (I am usually not Concierge and have only done Cabanas twice - with someone not in my family!)

Onboard, I felt as though I couldn’t ask for enough. The Concierge were just so attentive. I don’t have a lot of needs.

I loved the Lounge on the Dream. So peaceful. I didn’t want to leave on our 3-night cruise. It was my 10th DCL cruise, and I was just enjoying having different food choices for lunch and snacks. Ten years later and I still remember the deconstructed Caesar salad.

It‘s a special occasion and you ARE paying for the attention. If you are not mean and obnoxious, let your wishes be known. You are probably doing the best thing - getting your ducks in a row to present at one time.

Have a great Celebration. Hope you get to sail as planned.

Hi everyone! We hope to have our first concierge trip in Sept '21. 🤞 Can someone with Concierge experience tell me what a "PreCruise Letter" is? Do they email you something letting you know about how to contact the precruise concierge staff with these requests? If it's the guest emailing the DCL concierge staff, how did you know where to send the email and by when? Thanks in advance!

You'll get an email from shoreside concierge with the information but basically you can book/request things starting at midnight on day 125. You'll want to draft your email in advance so its ready to go and then hit the send button right at 12:01. If you send it too early, it won't count. If you send it too late, you'll be put behind all the other concierge members who sent their email on time. If you scroll back through this thread, I had screenshot and shared my pre-cruise letter if you want to take a look. The MOST crucial request -if you want one - is the cabana. There are fewer cabanas than there are concierge rooms so there is a chance that you will miss out if you are late with your requests. Aside from the cabana, you can request that they book your excursions, palo/remy dinners, spa services, meet & greets (if that's still a thing), as well as making requests for a certain dining rotation or type of table (i.e. the teacup tables in Enchanted Garden) Hope that helps!
