So I leave in 2 weeks and usually ship my stuff but this year I am trying to see what works best so my girls and I each doing ca carry on and a bag and then checking in our toiletries and other stuff we need..... so my question is a just put the tags on the duffel bag to be checked and how does the process work about getting my luggage? does Disney take care of it all or do i have to go to luggage pick up to get it? Also I called a while back to give them my flight info and when i got my mickey mail my flight info was not listed but I have Magical express bar codes for my trip just a little confused,,,,,,please help

If you have the DME packet, there should be one luggage tag for each person on the reservation. You put the tag (bright yellow, hard to miss) on the handle of each checked bag before you hand it over to the airline.

You do NOT put a tag on any carry on items. When you get to MCO, go the DME boarding area, check in (I think you tell them here how many bags you checked), board a bus, and your bags will catch back up with you in about 4 hours.

The only difference is if your plane lands after 10pm. Then you'll need to go to baggage claim, get your bags, and take them to the bus with you.

Call ME directly, toll free number is in your documents, and advise them of your flights, or wait until you get to MCO and make sure they have your return flight information before you que up for the bus to the resort. At MCO they run 24 hours, so you'll always get a ride to Mickey's, but for the ride back to the airport they need your flight info to assign the busses.

I see "no flight information" listed frequently in the ME documents when flights are given to Disney after the booking has been made. The ME reservation is made but the flight info doesn't always transfer over from the Disney system.

Here is a tip for your carryons- make sure you put a DISNEY name/address tag with the reservation holders name on it!! Even just decorate one with Disney stickers or something. Why you ask? On our last trip, we got put on a VERY full flight after our plane got there late and we missed our connection, so there was no room for our carryons (which held EVERYTHING for my 2 year old because I was sure it wouldnt get lost that way...) They ended up having to take that bag from me and it ended up being checked like normal luggage (not gate checked). Well, it almost didn't make it to disney at all because it still had 2 flights to go and no one put a airline luggage tag on it! It almost got stuck in Dallas! So anyway, we get to Orlando airport and I cant find the bag, so I go into the room to make the claim on the bag and there it is! The Magical Express guy saw it with Disney luggage tags and was trying to find out where it went! He was determined to get this bag to us! I asked him how he knew it was supposed to go to disney and he said he saw the Mickey luggage tag! :thumbsup2 What did I learn that trip?! To NEVER underestimate the power of the cute little old man working the bags for the Magical Express! I think he was just as excited to see me as I was to see my bag! LOL

I requested extra tags in case we end up having to gate check our carry-ons. if we do, I'll put the DME tags on the bags before turning them over at the gate

FYI, when you have a bag taken for gate check because the plane is full, it is treated like any other checked bag. You have to pick it up at baggage claim, not plane side. Obviously someone messed up by not tagging your bag.
