My DW and I have booked our annual trip for the week after Thanksgiving... Nov 27th throguh Dec 5th. However, because of a change we needed to make, we have a split stay... the first 5 nights with be a 1br at BWV and the final 3 nights will be at YC. This is the first time we will have to change rooms, let alone resorts during a stay. Any advice would be helpful.

I believe I read that the hotels will help us move our luggage between hotels. Does it work like Magic Express... We leave one hotel and our luggage magicly shows up in our new room?

Do we check out of one resort and then check into the new resort? Also, how do room charges get handled?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice from the experts on here.

I am interested in this as well as we are doing the same thing for the first time this year.

We have done a lot of split stays, the latest being at the end of July with 3 nights at BLT and 4 nights at THV.

The morning of your switch, get all your bags packed and ready. Anything in the fridge get packed too if you are pringing it (assuming you have someplace to keep it at the new place). Bringing along an insolated bag is great - if you don't have one Publix has great ones.

Call Bell Serives at your current resort. Be ready with a count of the bags. They will come and put them on a cart and give you a ticket. If you have anything that needs to be either refrigerated or frozen, let them know. They have coolers/freezers to keep it in.

What we generally do then is go to the theme park closest our new resort. We spend the day there and then after 4 or so go and check in at the new resort. If you like (or if you have a special room request) you might want to go check in early (I've done this a lot - gotten up early before parks are open, run to the new resort and then back to get packed - just gets it out of the way and sometimes the room is even ready).

When you go to the new resort in the afternoon, your bags may already be there - just cal down and check with Bell Services. At the latest, they should arrive by evening.

It's really pretty easy and makes the trip seem longer.

In your case, it should be really easy going from BWV to YC. Just give the bags to BW Bell Services, go to Epcot and go to YC instead of BW on the way back that afternoon.

Bell Services will move your luggage. You need to be in your room at both locations if you have them deliver to your room, (they want a tip).

You check out of BWV before 11 and check in at YC. You can check in at YC before or after you check out at the BCV.

Ever tried the DDP. A split stay is a great time to save some money and experience Disney dining. You can have the DDP for the BWV stay and not the entire stay.

we did a split stay blt-and then a one nighter at VWL. Bell services was extremely nice and helpful. very nice and helpful! we had everything packed, dry and cold items, suitcases. you call them to the room when you are ready. they told us they would put cold stuff in the fridge and deliver everything to the other resort at 1:00 p.m. We enjoyed our day at the park and called them once we checked in. great service~made our stays easier~ princess:
