First time camping with YOUNG kids ( 5 )???

I agree with the Jellystone campgrounds. We've been going to them for years. My kids are 14 and 16 and we stil have to go every year regardless of any other vacation plans we may have.
The one we go to (Ashland, NH) have alot of activities all day. The faciities are always clean.
I would look for one in your area to try.

If you want to get an idea of what they are like the website for the one we go to is;

I definitely recommend glow sticks! They give off just about enough light to be a night light, and you don't have to worry about burning up the batteries!

Take water shoes or flip flops to use in the bathroom. Even when they're clean, you don't want to be barefoot.

Pack things in zip locks. In case it rains, it will help to have dry clothes. (See my camping trip report for more particulars!)

Take sidewalk chalk. Kids can entertain themselves for hours drawing on the parking pad. And we play a lot of uno when we're camping.
