First Time Back in 4 years -- disappointed in selection

We are returning to WDW for the first time in four years to celebrate my oldest daughter graduating from college. We booked the dining plan but am really disappointed in the limited sit down restruants that are not on the plan anymore. Is it really worth it or should we just pay out of pocket and go where we want to?

If you are looking at the 2012 dining plan list, it isn't complete and won't be complete until the third party restaurants finish their contract renewals next month. Use the 2011 list for planning, as it is not anticipated at this time that any third party restaurants will be dropping the dining plan for 2012.

I wouldn't worry about it...by the time you are ready to book your ADRs, you will see pretty much the same listing of TS restaurants on the dining plan. Many of the restaurants always seem to show up after the first of the year! Whether or not the dining plan is a value for you--well, only you can answer that

I believe in all the years of the Dining Plan, the only restaurant to actually stop accepting the plan is Fulton's. Every year at this time it seems people tend to get worried, but in the end the list of restaurants that accepts the Dining Plans ends up being the same.

Yes, as others have said -- the list of participating restaurants will ultimately be pretty much the same as 4 years ago.
But-- the price structure of the DDP has changed dramatically over the last 4 years. It is far far less of a value than it was 4 years ago. Fiscally, it makes sense for less people, than it did 4 years ago.

Agreed! When we went about 5 years ago the cost was around $33 and the TS meal included appetizer as well as tip. So now they've removed the appetizer and tip and substantially raised the price.
