First Time at Yatch Club

We will be staying at the YC for the first time on 4 September and we are very excited about staying there.

I have a question about illuminations. Can you see the fireworks good from the YC if you have a water view room?

Also, how much of the water slide at the pool is enclosed? I saw the slide on Great Hotels, on the travel channel, and it appeared to be enclosed for a good length. I was just wondering because I think that my 3 year old son will be a little afraid of that?

Many of the water view rooms have good views of the fireworks part of Illuminations. The higher up you are in the hotel, the better the view will be.

The big water slide is enclosed for the majority of the length (60 -80 feet?). Only the last 20 - 30 feet are not enclosed.

We could see the fireworks from Illuminations from our waterview room. It was great. We had a first floor room and were able to walk right out onto the grassy area to view them. It was great with our then 2 & 4 yo boys.

As far as the slide goes, if your 3 yo can swim in deep water w/o swimmies or a life vest, then he can go down the slide, as no one is allowed to wait at the bottom of the slide. Otherwise, there is a kiddie slide also which my boys loved.

The Yacht Club is a wonderful resort for little ones. My boys are begging to go back but this time it's the Wildnerness Lodge for us.

Thanks for the replies. Glad to know that they have a kiddie slide. He loves the slide at CBR, which is where we usually stay. We finally decided to just go for it and stay at YC this year.

My youngest child hasn't done the big slide, but he loves the small one. Come to think of it, the same description fits his mother! I think we missed the little slide the first time we went to Storm-a-Long Bay. It's in the pool across the sidewalk on the bay side.
