You chose a great place to stay. (IMO) We stayed there this past January for a week and loved it. I liked the fact that you can go to the boat dock (located behind the pool area) and take a relaxing ride over to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, or the Contemporary, or they have one that goes directly to MK. Breaks the cycle of having to ride the bus all the time. The first time you walk in to the lobby you will probably be amazed at the sheer size. It is all open, yet still very cozy feeling.
There are several places to dine. We went down to breakfast every morning to Whispering Canyon Cafe. Be forwarned though, if you are the type of person that enjoys a quiet breakfast, the wait staff like to "have a good time" with the customers. One morning we went there was a couple there that were on their honeymoon and they made them stand up, and everyone everyone was asked to join in singing a song to them (cant remember the song). And dinner at night is even far more outrageous. Many a times we would sit in the lobby and watch the waitstaff have all the men in the restaurant stand up and follow each other around the restaurant singing. It is the funniest thing to see. But aside from all that the food is really good.
There is also a snack bar type place located inside by the pool area. It is nice to go there if you just want a quick bite to eat. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner and things like donuts, pastries, ice cream bars, hot chocolate, coffee, etc.. We had dinner there one night and the food was also goog.
Plus you cannot miss the man made guiser (sp?) that is located behind the pool area. It "erupts" every hour on the hour and is even more spectacular a sight at night time.
Overall, DH, DS, DD and myself really enjoyed staying there. Hope I have given you a little bit of info and hope you have a wonderful time as well.
