First time at Universal. Is this doable?

I'm a newbie to Universal and only plan to spend one day. Attractions we're interested in are Minion Mayhem, ET, Shrek, Men in Black, and the Simpsons, as well as the Curious George play area. At IOA we'd like to go to all four Seuss rides as well as the show in that area. Can this all be done in one day, from park opening to late in the afternoon? We usually plan our trips for May or October. What are crowds like in those months? Which park should we go to first? TIA!

Sounds very reasonable. I'd do Minion Mayhem first.

if you go either May or October, avoid going on saturdays.
tuesdays and wednesdays are lower crowd days.

Thanks for the advice. This is a trip I'm planning with friends with young children. In the event my daughter decides to come with us, we would never be able to stay all day due to some medical issues. If we decided to leave, could we upgrade our tickets to a two-day ticket, or would we just have to buy another ticket for the next day?

if you decide to add another day to your ticket, upgrade it at guest services before the park closes that day.
