This is my first post on the disboards though I've been traveling, writing, and even podcasting about theme parks for a good eight years. But that is a story for another time.
Last night I was able to "dive in" head first into Trader Sams, after hearing about the waits I wasn't sure if my friend and I were going to be able to get in. We arrived at 9:40pm and we literally walked right in. I assumed the only reason we didn't have to wait is because everyone was getting ready or about to see the fireworks happening across the pond at the Magic Kingdom.
That being said when we walked it surprised me how nice the guests that were there having libations were. Literally a guest stood up as my friend and I walked into the room and shouted "We've been waiting for you, there are two seats right here!" And we joined in a group. When it came to drinks I ordered the shrunken zombie head and my buddy ordered the tiki tiki tiki rum, which I will say I think the tiki tiki tiki rum was better but who can say no to a zombie themed drink. I was really amazed by how much the room changed when people ordered drinks, it really felt like you were in a magical dive bar were everyone just comes to chill out. I'm an Orlandian that really doesn't like clubs or like loud bar scenes, you can find me at hanson's shoe repair (if you can find it) but I was really impressed by the experience at the bar.
I was so impressed I actually filmed a video there of the entire experience, you'll see a volcano eruption/freakout, being challenged to go "FULL TIKI", and general horseplay. Tell me if you like it!
