First time at the Fort...distance to pool?

Hi everyone! Our first trip to FW will be in May. We will be camping in our 30' 5th wheel. I requested Loop 500 (premium pet loop). I've found a lot of good information on the Camping Board - Thanks!!

The map of FW is a little overwhelming...it looks HUGE!! Can someone tell me how far it is from Loop 500 to the pool? We will be bringing bikes; not renting a golf cart because we will be in the parks most of the time. Of course, we are reserving some time to enjoy the Fort too!

We were in loop 500 past Oct.
Onna bike you can be at the main pool in less than 5 minutes,,walking,bout 10 minutes or so.

The Fort is very large,, good to have bikes,, theres a lot to see and do. Your gonna hava great time.

Or if you want to do it the "lazy" way, just wait for the "Yellow Bus", stop is right at the loop entrance.

We always bring our bikes. Riding bikes is a good way to explore The Fort and get to know the ins and outs of all the loops. We ride around just to relax. Have fun.

Hang a right going out of Loop 500. Loop 1400 is the next loop and the Meadows and Pool are next. In fact, cut through 1400 next to the comfort station and you can get to the pool that way past the Bike Barn.

Actually, unless your site is quite near the loop entrance, going out the back of the loop via the comfort station and taking the pedestrian bridge in 600 is the shortest route... about 4/10ths of a mile on average. Even from site 540 (quite close to the entrance) exiting the front of the loop and cutting through 1400 is 5/10ths of a mile where going counterclockwise and out the back is .46 mi. It doesn't seem right in my head, but the numbers don't lie. BTW, all these measurements are taken keeping strictly to the paths and crossing only at crosswalks.

A correction, even starting at site 501 (right at the entrance) the route out the back and over the 600 pedestrian bridge is shorter by 300 feet. The distances, if anybody is interested, are:

When will everybody learn, if you want directions always go to "Santa" first as he has all the distances everywhere, and some of you dont believe in Santa, you should know better...
