Hey,

We're doing a split stay Yacht/Polynesian. We've never stayed at the Polynesian before and I was wondering which longhouse we should request? Walking long distances is a health issue for one of us so where the room is located is always a huge deal.

Any thing we should make sure we don't miss while there? Any hints/tips for making our stay great?

Thanks!

:)

Hi! You will love the POLY!
THere is a great website with lots of detailed info about the Polynesian. It's Tikimanpages.

We stayed in Rarotonga our first time. It was right next to the Great Ceremonial House (main building/lobby), and on the side of the resort closest to the TTC, to walk to the Epcot monorail. So we found it very convenient.

This summer we stayed in Tahiti, and it was a much farther walk to the Great ceremonial House. Rapa Nui was over that direction as well. Though both were close to the TTC, so we could easily walk over there for transportation.

Samoa and Aerotora are close to the GCH as well.

Enjoy!

I would make sure to tell CRO about the mobility issue. Check out the map and request the building you think would be best.

I just returned from my 1st Poly stay last night & for us, the room was in the perfect location. We were on the 1st floor of Tokelau - we walked out the building (we were 3rd room from the door) a few hundred yards straight to the resort buses, or a few hundred yard left was the TTC, a few hundred feet off the patio was the quiet pool, and a few hundred yards to the right was the GCH, Captain Cook's, Volcano Pool, etc. I would request this exact location next time.

We're hoping for Tokelau 3rd floor. Not to hijack, but how and when do we make our request?

Hey Tara,

I've read some good things about the garden views on the "beach end" of that longhouse. Was your room near the beach? Do you remember what your room number was? And would you get it again?

Thanks!!!

Anytime from now up to about 7 days before your check in date. I've seen people report in various places that the room assigner gets the reservation somewhere between 3-5 days (depending on where your reading) from your check-in date. :)

We weren't on the beach end of Tokelau, we were on the other end, towards the TTC & front of The Poly. It was right by the guest laundry & the Neverland Kids Club. It was ground floor, room 1941 & I'd request that exact location again! It was just a few steps from everything.

We stayed in Samoa and thought it was in the perfect location for getting everywhere. It was just steps from the GCH, volcano/quiet pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks :thumbsup2.

Call CRO and explain that you have a member of your party with a mobility issue, and request a room located near the GCH. We did this several years back when we travelled with my in-laws who both have knee and hip issues. We were assigned a 1st-floor room in Rarotonga and the location was perfect.

My in-laws found the walk to the TTC a bit long for them, so we used the monorail to get to the TTC when we went to Epcot...but since you are splitting with YC, perhaps you can do all or most of your Epcot time while you are there? My family without mobility issues finds the walk from one end of the Poly to the other to be very pleasant and pretty short.
