We own at WLV so this will be our first stay at OKW.

Which building(s) have the soda machines, coffee etc.? And which buildings are closest to those areas?

Also, does OKW still have the refillable mugs to buy and can you still use them on future trips?

Leaving tommorow so these are last min. questions

BTW. my counter is off. We really are leaving tommorow:rolleyes:

I believe there are soda machines at all the pool areas just inside where the laundry is. There are ice machines at all the bus stops if you are staying in a studio. I might be wrong about the soda machines. You have a refrigrator in all the units so soda should not be a problem to have around. All refillable mug programs are for the visit only not to be used again at any rate it would be very impractical to have a mug program and you might be nearly 1/2 mile from where you would fill them up. Buy soda when you arrive and put it in the refrig would be my advice. Coffee is in all the units as is a coffee maker so you can make your own coffee if you wish. Remember these units are designed for long term stay and are self sufficient.:earseek:

Soda and Ice Machines are located in an alcove tucked into the bus stops and there are also ice machines in the quiet pool laundry rooms. Usually there is a soda machine located just ourside the laundry rooms, as well.

If you want to buy a Refillable Mug (to some of us they're "required" souveniers!), they're for sale at Good's to Go.

Hey Jimmytammy, small world. I just got your pm that you received the BCV lithograph, and was responding by sharing how excited my family is, that WE are about to leave for OKW! :) We check in on Saturday. Will you still be there? I 'll have my Mickey ears on my bag!

Old Key West also has a snack/drink bar by the main pool and a second one by the Turtle Pond pool. We got a refillable mug at this bar in November. Not reusable, it was dated "holiday 2003" and the woman said I could use it through January 2004. The cm's refill your mug for you, not like a food court. We swam at the Turtle Pond pool every day (building 49 was a short walk) and really got our money's worth from the mug. We also bought canned soda for the room.

See you there! :)

I have used the refillable mugs at many Disney locations and love them.

However, I found them not to be as useful at OKW since it is so spread out. They are great if you are just hanging around the pool and want to keep refilling...but if you're spending time in your room, it was too far of a trip to refill.

Disney frequently changes the mugs design to prevent you from using them on future trips. I think the terms of the mugs is that you get the free refills during your current visit only. If I am wrong, I am sure someone will quickly correct me. Have fun.:bounce:
