First time at OKW

Did you go inside the lighthouse. Shhhh! I think it is the best kept secret . No body seems to realize whats there unless they stay at OKW.

Wow!! Learn something new all the time on the DIS!!
We are OKW owners since 1997 and never knew you could go in the Lighthouse!! Really??? Maybe cause we've never used the pool??

While I'm at it I need to ask for my grown kids, are adults allowed on the castle slide?? Or just the grandkids??
The adults love the Clown slide at BWV.
We will be there for Thanksgiving!! Can't wait!!
Thanks!! Loved the pictures, they build the excitement!!

We are jumping out of our skin waiting for our first visit to OKW. Our kids still think we are going to Georgia. Can't wait to surprise them on the morning we fly out.

DH, DSis, DSis' Fiance and DNephew (from a different sister) will be at OKW the week after Thanksgiving and I can't wait! DNephew will be 18 months old. Any thoughts on what is there that he might like? The pool and sand areas look like fun

Everybody is welcome on the OKW slide. It's one of our favorites.

Yep - big kids can go on the slide, too. My DH is 6'2" and went down a few times.

The Lighthouse isn't really a lighthouse. There's a sauna inside! ;)

Love all the pics!!! I am really excited to try out OKW now! Were you in a renovated room?

We were NOT in a renovated room and still absolutely loved it! I know next time we stay at OKW the renovated rooms will make it even better :thumbsup2

We did not go inside b/c I didn't want my little ones following me ;) Looks awesome though! I did try the spa and it was heaven!

My DS is 23 months and loved so many things! The community hall has a great section for little ones, and tables set up for coloring which is one of his favorite things. There is the boat ride to DTD, (he said "boat ride, FUN!) the ducks and birds are all over, and the sand areas were perfect for him. Don't forget a shovel and bucket!

Not that it really matters now, but I think tinypic.com is the culprit for adding the pics that were NOT mine to this thread. I just checked back through and one of my pics had switched to some random movie poster. I erased it but will not be using tinypic again as a hosting site! Just a heads up for those of you that may be using tinypic.com!

Thanks love dvc & Tikihula !!
The Big kids will be so happy!! We will have to check out the sauna too!! :thumbsup2

I've loved your pictures! I've owned at OKW since 1993 and now I'm soooo homesick for it. Thanks for all the great shots.

I have to wait until next summer!!!

Oh well...

But next summer will be great! :woohoo:

I just love OKW.

The pictures are wonderful (nothing X-rated this time)!

We are taking our 1st DVC trip in just over 3 months and because it was a bit unexpected I didn't get into BLT (where the family really wanted to go) but after seeing these pictures I think that we will be very happy at OKW

We have a dedicated 2 bedroom near the hospitality house reserved - I am not sure as to what it means but I am sure it will be great.

Thanks for the report and photos! Gets me very excited for our trip in March. I am gonna need the "Bahamas feel" after a long Illinois winter! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for sharing your report and wonderful pictures. OKW is one of my home resorts too and we love it there. I really miss it now - it's been a few years since we have stayed here. We are trying to try all the resorts :)

My husband, Ed, and I love the 1-bedroom units at OKW and have stayed there for the past 15 years. They are so spacious which is wonderful. The grounds are well maintained and attractive. :surfweb:We saw a remodeled unit on U-Tube, and it looks very nice. Ed and I are looking forward to going down to OKW and hope we get an updated unit.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay in building 14. Your children are very cute.

I love the tropical theme of OKW; the piped in music puts you in a festive mood. The sultry surroundings are enchanting and the palm trees are exquisite.

We own a piece of OKW. Got it the first year it was offered, and need to go back again. Never too old! Have to put this on my need to so list.
