First time at OKW - Just Back
We have just returned from our first visit at OKW and had a great stay!
We were extended family of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids 9,8,6, and 5) The choice was 2 bdrm or two separate rooms at a value resort! We rented points from another DISer from the DVC Board which was a great experience.

We were in building 21, which seemed to be a very quiet area. We had a really nice golf course view and was near to the bus stop and smaller pool.

This was a whole new perspective on staying on site. Previously we have stayed at CR, Poly, WL, AKL, Swan, and Dolphin. All are really nice, however they are hotel rooms. The 2 bdrm had loads of room (I was very surprised at the size), and had the convience of doing your own laundry, cooking as many meals as you like, with tons of room to store all your "stuff". I never once had to tell the kids to stay on the bed so I could straighten up and organise things in the room! LOL! I couldn't believe we were actually on site!

OKW has a subtle Disney flair. I didn't feel any of the "Disney Frenzy" like some of the other properties can have. Hidden Mickey's were everywhere, CM's were really nice and helpful, and had all the amenities expected when staying on site. The bus service was great - never waiting more than 10 minutes for a bus (and this was because we just missed the first bus) It was restful and comfortable and a great place to relax after spending a busy day at the parks.
It truly felt "like home"
I would be happy to answer any questions, now that I'm a new member of the OKW Fan Club!

(Now if I can just convince DH to become DVC members!)

Thanks for the report!! Glad you enjoyed your stay.

(You might want to check out some resale offerings! ;) )

THanks for the great report from someone who is a newbie and doesn't have any bias!

Great to see your pleasant experience at OKW shores up what many of us OKW devotees have been saying for years! Glad you liked our "home"!

Glad to hear you had a great stay. Isn't it funny to feel like you "live" at WDW? ;)

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. It is nice to hear that from someone that is not an owner--it lets the rest of us know that we aren't totally biased on the subject.

Don't let it take you too long before you decide to further investigate DVC. The most common complaint heard here is "I wish we had bought in sooner."

Hi:)
Thanks for sharing. There will be possibly 8 of us going next Aug.04 and we sure would like to stay in a 2bdrm villa at OKW. My sister and I stayed at AKL last summer and visited some of the other on property resorts. Since Mom who is 84 will be traveling with us we thought OKW would be the best choice. Your report really makes me want to be there.

Montana Minnies - OKW 2 bdrm is a great place to stay with 8. You'll be surprised at the amount of space, and in no way will you feel "crowded"
Just request a ground floor, or elevator building with your Mom and you should be fine. She'll love it there!
The thought of trying to get two connecting hotel rooms with our party just made me stress way too much, since they can never guarantee connecting rooms. With the family, we needed to be close by. Again OKW was great!

I"m taking my mother - 75 and father-in-law (80) who have trouble walking and are diabetic, so asked for first floor or elevator at OKW - 2 dedicated bedroom.

and also me and my hubby, and 5 year old DD (in the fold out couch) in the living room. Daughter loves to swim, but it's in Feb., so might be too cold (especially because it seems like OKW pools are heated as well as BCV or VWL; don't know why...)

and father-in-law just wants to sit outside on the porch, read books, and watch the outside.

So does anyone know of a pretty view (like golf course, or canal) that also would be easy to get to Hospitality House and/or ground level or elevator.

Oh, and DD loves to feed the ducks and birds. Did that every morning last year, we were in a Grand Villa by Miller Road, I think Building 19.

Opinions and tips welcome, Goldi.

Oh, and this is for a week over President's day weekend. Hope it's not too crowded, but may not matter if we're not doing the parks.

LOL.

Last thought, does anyone have Tiffany Town car's phone number. Was thinking of using them, because rental car prices expensive over this holiday weekend.
