Hey disboards!!
Though it's been awhile, here's my review of Narcoossee's from the end of May 2010!! The cast-
Me- Lindsay age 18.
My sister Jessica (DS) 24
my Mom (DM).
This was our first 2 TS credit meal we tried at Disney and were very excited though DM was the one to actually chose Narcoossee's. My sister and her were really excited to try to surf and turf!
So let's begin!
Our reservations were May 27 2010 at 7 pm and we arrived about 15-20 minutes early. For those who don't know, the restaurant is not in the main building, it's near the boat launch for MK. So let's start!
We were giving a buzzer and decided to sit outside and look around. The restaurant is right next to the water and it was a beautiful day. Outside the restaurant there's a garden of sorts that has all these herbs and spices, it smelled good! I wonder if they use these in their food?
The buzzer rang after about 15 minutes and we were seated right next to the window!
We were celebrating my birthday so the table was decorated with confetti. Our waitress was nice, nothing special though. For drinks me and DS got this one smoothie which i can not remember what it was called, but it was very good!
DM also had a smoothie, a strawberry one. Very tasty! I was hoping for free refills but no such luck
Bread was tasty but nothing special, butter had a sprinkle of sea salt on top. Sorry about the blurryness!
DS got shrimp and clam chowder to start which she loved, it arrived in a huge dish which I thought was weird. It rly accentuated how small the amount of soup was. Though she loved it, it might have been a mistake because she was worried she be stuffed by the end of the meal!
For dinner, DS and DM both got the surf and turf which included Two twin medallions of Filet Mignon and Butter-poached lobster tail, with potato gratin and choron sauce. They loved the lobster, it was a big piece too. They liked the fillet ok, but the lobster was the clear winner.
For my meal I got the Fillet Mignon. I love fillet and have ordered it many times and this time I was disappointed. It came out fatty
so I sent it back. When it came back again, it was way overcooked and I like it a bit bloody too. By this time i was worried that by the time i got my food DM and DS would be done with their meal. But they must have put a rush on it because i didnt have to wait too long for it. Third times the charm? This time, when it came back out it was fine. Just 'fine'. Which is a shame for Disney especially a 2 credit restaurant. But the staff was wonderful, the chef even came out to make sure it was better and I was given another drink on the house. Gotta love great Disney staff!
For dessert I got the sunday which was good but wasn't anything special. They wrote Happy Birthday in cocoa which was nice
DM and DS got the brulee duo which was Key lime and Coconut and they loved it. DS especially loves key lime and she loves brulee. so a perfect dessert for her!
So all in all, we would probably try Narcoossee's again but I would not order the fillet Mignon again. I'm not so sure if it's worth 2 credits on the dining plan though. Staff was wonderful though and we ended up enjoying ourselves!
