I have booked 2 savannah view studios at Kidani for the last week of June. I will be taking my daughter, SIL and 2 grandchildren boy 9 and girl 3. Any suggestions? My SIL really loves animals so I hope we have a good view. We are also thinking about the Dining plan.

Enjoy the pool! The CM's do a great job at the afternoon pool party. Also make sure to talk to the CM's out by the savanna. They are very knowledgable and we learned a lot about the animals. There is a spot right by the pool that looks at the savanna too. We talked to a cm over there and learned a great deal about the wild life. Make sure to walk over to the store at Jambo for King Pin. My boys loved trading pins with him and it was fun to watch him interact with the kids. AKV offers lots of daily activities, so make sure to see what is offered. DH and I stayed there this past October without the kids, and saw many happy kids doing craft projects that I'm sure your grandkids would enjoy. Have a great trip.:goodvibes

We just came back from our stay at Kidani. The pool is great for kids! We found the animal viewing is better at Kidani than at Jambo House -- but be sure to request a Sunset Savannah room. We saw zebras, giraffes, ostriches, and other animals from our balcony there.

We'll be there the same week! DH, myself, and DDs ages 9 & 7. Have fun! Make sure you have a lot of water, and definitely go to the pool! Mara at Jambo house is really not that far of a walk either. Kidani is a great resort!

Thanks for the information! I will request Sunset Savannah and plan to spend some time at the pool. The activities will have to be looked at too! I love the idea of doing some crafts together.

Take some time to see the animals in the evening. They have night vision binoculars you can use at the main viewing station. It is pretty awesome.

We are renting points at AKV Kidani from a friend this September. I requested to be near the lobby, as we have a little one (15 months) who will be in a stroller, and I don't want to spend so much time pushing it at the resort.

What is a Sunset Savannah room?

Every evening at 8:30pm in the Kidani library there is a cultural presentation on a different country in Africa given by a CM. These are the CMs who have been given the opportunity by Disney to come work at AKV for 1 year. During our vacation a few weeks ago, we attended 3 or 4 of the presentations and they were the highlight of our trip! Most of them are studying Travel & Tourism in Africa and they are very happy to share information about their country. We learned so much from these presentations and it added another dimension to the experience of being at Kidani. Only problem is... now we want to visit Africa! ;)
