I am taking my family to Disney for our first time. we have 3 boys 14, 6, and 4. We are staying for 7 nights and these are the reservation I made. Please let me know what you think and if I should change any..These are all for Dinner

Chef Mickey's
Ohana
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
Yak and Yeti
Sci Fi
Whispering Canyon Cafe'

Also what are some good recomendations of Quick Service Locations

thanks...

I agree with most of your choices, although Sci Fi has never been a favorite of my family. If you can fit it into your schedule, you might try BOMA at AKL. That is our absolute favorite at WDW. The buffet changes slightly depending on the day of the week and we love Saturday dinner the best because that is spare ribs night. But every night has great choices. My grandsons, who are 9, 11 and 14 all love the food and the resturant.

All of these look good. I have never been to Yak and Yeti or Garden Grill but they seem to be liked. Sci Fi is good but I honestly like 50s Prime Time in HS better than Sci Fi. Looks good though :)

Congrats on your upcoming trip!

I wouldn't let anyone talk me out of WCC!! That is one we have to do.
The others seem good to, Crystal Palace is a fav as well.
Last week had a bad time at Ohana, but it was service and noise level not food. Food was very good. So if it is already made.....

We had Sci Fi for lunch, was very cool, food is ok and everyone must do it once, then it is up to you.

So over all I think your choices are good, I wouldn't change anything other than Yak and Yeti, but I haven't had that, just personal preference.

Nice selection. I put my personal fav times to eat there, dont' know when you planned.
I agree. maybe should try Boma. Works as a great first night.
usually arrive to late to enjoy the parks anyhow and ALK is kind of out of the way, so first night works nicely to check it out.
Or T-Rex, with the ages of your boys.

As for quick serve, MK try Peco Bills or Cosmic Rays, depending on where you are about lunch time.
At AK, maybe try the bag lunch program.
No real recommendations at EPCOT or HS. (have no favs there)

I like all your choices, however, my husband and I were not impressed with the food at Yak & Yeti a couple weeks ago. The egg rolls were excellent and we loved the atmosphere, but the rest of our meal was just bland to us. Maybe it was just what we ordered.

Definiteley keep the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I agree that Peco Bills & Cosmic Rays is a great counter service restaurant at the Magic Kingdom.

Counter service options:

Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavillion at Epcot.

Cosmic Rays at MK

Flame Tree BBQ at AK

Backlot Express at HS.

Your choices look great! And your boys may really enjoy the ambiance of Sci-Fi (as well as the yummy milkshakes).

As for quick service, our faves are:
AK - Flame Tree BBQ (lots of beautiful seating down the path behind the restaurant)
MK - Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons or Eating around World Showcase
DHS - Backlot Express

Chef Mickey's: We love Chef Mickey's. This is always a first night meal for us every trip.

Ohana: The Poly is such a beautiful place to eat. Ask for a window seat with a MK view. It's not a guarantee, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

Yak and Yeti: We LOVE this place!

Whispering Canyon Cafe: WL is another beautiful Resort. WCC is a fun meal!

Some good recomendations of Quick Service Locations:
MK: Cosmic Ray's and Pinnochio's
AK: Pizzafari
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
DHS: Pizza Planet and Backlot Express

Poly: Capt. Cook's
AKL: The Mara

Chef Mickey's- I have not eaten there in a few years, but since you have younger kids, it is a great place for a meal with characters.

Ohana- have not really eaten there that much

Crystal Palace- another great character meal, and the food is pretty good!

Garden Grill- just ate there last week! Very good meal, they have a number of choices, including turkey and ribs, along with potatoes, stuffing and the fish of the day, which comes with viggies. For the younger kids, you have mac&cheese, chicken fingers, and a number of other choices. It is a bit like a buffet, but they bring your choices right to your table. You also get a dessert, which is a yummy berry pie. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale are the characters there, and it is a rotating restaraunt in the land, it rotates slowly past different scenes from the "Living with the Land" boat ride

Yak and Yeti- also just ate there, the food was good, although the service was not as good as normal, but it was just a problem with the waitress.

Sci Fi- I love this restraunt, as you get to sit in a car, and it is like you are really at a Drive-in. They have a big screen where they play old Sci-Fi clips, and the food is great as well.

Whispering Canyon Cafe'- one of my favorites for thanksgiving. Both the food and service is great!

In all, great choices. For counter service, I would also reccomend Cosmic Rays in the Magic Kingdom, along with Pacos Bills. In Epcot, the sunshine seasons in the land is also great, but there is plenty of wonderful food around world showcase. In the Studios, the Backlot, and Animal Kingdom, Flame Tree.

Your ADR are great places to try for the first time you are there. As far as CS I would recommend Casey's Hot Dogs or Peco Bills in MK, Sunshine Seasons or La Cantina De San Angel at EP, Flaming BBQ or Picnic in the Park at AK, and ABC Commissary at DS. I hope you family has a great trip.

:thumbsup2Looks like some great choices! I LOVE Yak & Yeti, Sci-Fi, and Crystal Palace!!!! Not a fan of 'Ohana but everyone else seems to like it. Some of my favorite counter service places are:

Columbia Harbour House - Magic Kingdom
Sunshine Seasons - Epcot
also in Epcot, we always LOVED the Cantina de San Angel but I've not heard good things about the new menu
my only advice about Disney's Hollywood Studios is to steer clear of ABC Commissary, we personally, like Toy Story Pizza Planet - not fantastic but pretty good pizza
haven't ever eaten counter service at Animal Kingdom

Have a great 1st trip!!!!!!!:goodvibes

I have been to all of the restaurants you are planning to eat at, with the exception of CM and WCC. I think the remaining are great choices, except for Sci-Fi. My family has never had a great experience there. Yes, the atmosphere is cool and cheesy, but the food and service have never been good when we have eaten there. I personally would swap out 50's Prime Time for Sci-Fi. You have quite a few buffet and family-style meal options, so as long as you are okay with that, then you have some pretty good choices.

There are oodles of good CS locations at WDW. I love Earl of Sandwich and WGP Express in DTD. At the MK, Columbia Harbor House is a great option. In Epcot, it is fun to kind of just eat your way around the World Showcase (Bread and a Cheese plate in France, Fish & Chips in England, Margarita in Mexico, etc.). At AK, Y&Y counter service, Flame Tree BBQ and the Picnic in the Park are all good options. As far as DHS goes, I am not a huge fan of the CS options and prefer to hop over to the BC resort and eat at Beaches and Cream, which is not a CS restaurant but it does have great burgers and shakes.

Have a wonderful trip! Your kids are at great ages to enjoy their first trip to WDW. :thumbsup2

I just realized how may Buffet resturants I have reserved. My wife is not a big fan of buffets but I want my 3 boys to have a good time too. can you suggest some good resturants that are not buffets... Thanks

Yes, you do have a lot of buffets, but with children under 10 on the dining plan that's a good thing! The kid's meals, both TS AND CS, are tiny and not very appealing. We have always done a lot of buffets simply so the kids would have better choices and get enough to eat. Kid's meal sizes are a good size for a 2 year old - if your kids have decent appetites they will not be enough. My 2 boys have graduated to the adult plan and I think by the next time we go my daughter will too! Of course we will probably still go to Crystal Palace and the Biergarten just because we love them so much!!!! Stick with what you have, looks great!!

I can give you my thoughts, but first, would you tell me if you would consider any of the signature dining restaurants as options? Also, what resort are you staying at (there may be good options right at your resort)? I have one child, a boy who is now 16, but he has been to WDW 10 times with us, and he is a foodie. Once I get your responses to the above, I can include my DS's favorites over the years for you to consider too.

We are staying at the Poly (Trying to learn this disney talk LOL)
and we are staying for 7 nights. I just changed the SCI FI to the Coral Reef hope it was a good choice but kids realy into fish and things like that. Just scared I am doing too many buffets. and Yea i would consider Signature Dining.. thanks

You could try Ohana for dinner since it's right there in your resort. Kids seem to really enjoy this one. The Coral Reef is a great idea!

As for counter service, I recommend Columbia Harbour House in the Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square. It's a very relaxing place to have lunch with decent fish and chicken.
