First time any tips

OK been to WDW lots of times but never been to DLP before so any good tips or things not to miss
we are staying 3 nights 4 days at Santa Fa but planning on going into Paris one of the days on the train
There is just the 2 of us DH's xmas present from me
Going in 11 days

We are going in March (4th time) and are planning on doing a trip to Paris by train also. Looking forward to reading on how you got on, so I will be after some tips from you.

I've never been to WDW, but I have often read that some rides in DLRP are improvements on the ones in WDW - so make sure you don't miss them. They are Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain (off the top of my head). I think the Indiana Jones ride is not in Florida, so you may want to try that. The Castle is very different and there is an animatronic dragon in the dungeon which is NOT to be missed. I believe Alice's Labyrinth is unique to DLRP.
I am told that Phantom Manor, Peter Pan and It's a Small World are not much different and can be missed if on a short schedule.

I'm guessing the Tower of Terror in the Studios would be worth seeing (even though it's the same) as it is so new.

The 2 Arcades down the side of Main Street USA are also worth a peruse.

Whatever you decide - have a fantastic time.

Repeating some that's said, don't miss Space Mountain - it's VERY different to that in WDW, and don't miss Rock'n'Roller Coaster.

Cars Rally is a new ride to DLRP as is Crush's Coaster - and of course, as is Tower of Terror.

Again, as the previous poster said - The Indiana Jones ride is a roller coaster, not a show like WDW, and of course you can see the dragon underneath Sleeping Beauty Castle. The Queen of Hearts Castle in the middle of Alice's Maze is quite cute and has a good view of Fantasyland.

The burgers at Annette's Diner are really good!! Especially the Rockabilly!

Ummm a good tip would be to sharpen your elbows! If you want to meet some characters, be prepared to jump right in there!

I hope you have a great trip, I actually prefer the Disneyland Paris park over the MK! Here are my suggestions:
1) The castle - make sure you look in the basement and go upstairs to see the stained glass windows.
2) BTMRR - the mountain part of it is on the island on the lake, much better than at WDW IMHO.
3) Space Mountain - much better coaster, more along the lines of RnRC. Discoveryland is also themed differently to Tomorrowland.
4) Indiana Jones ride - backwards looping coaster totally different to any other Disney park.
5) Eat at the Blue Lagoon restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, similar to the Blue Bayou in Disneyland.
6) Alice in Wonderland maze - not found in any other park, great fun, the characters pop out as you walk around.
7) Storyland canal boats - like at Disneyland.
8) Crush's coaster in Disney Studios, again not found anywhere else.
9) The backlot tour in Disney Studios, some elements are the same as in MGM (sorry, Disney Hollywood Studios!) but other elements are different.
10) Armageddon, although the American actor, over dubbed in French with English subtitles makes me laugh.
11) Phantom Manor, different to the one in the MK, more like the one at Disneyland as it has a stretching room.
12) Walts restaurant (although I haven't tried this one yet, but will do in April) in the Disneyland Park. It has rooms which are themed to the different lands.
13) If you want a fine dining meal I love the California Grill, totally different to the one at WDW but just as nice (plus it looks over Main Street, straight down to the castle.)
14) The ice rink will be open at the New York hotel.

I think that should do for now!! Catching the train into Paris itself is really easy, we have done that several times. The station is at the end of the Disney Village, just before the parks.

Ooh I just realised you were planning a day trip to Paris by train. We always do this.

It's really easy to do. You'll need a Ticket for Zones 1-6 - we always buy a day ticket which gives you unlimited access to the RER and to the Metro. This shouldn't cost much, around 11E - 13E. Or you can buy the Paris Visite for 18E for the day. As well as access to transport, it gives you 25% off Bateaux Parisienne and reduced price access to the Arc de Triomphe, Pantheon and Tour Montparnasse amongst other things. First time we bought the Visite, second time just the day ticket.

The trains come on a really regular basis every 5-10mins. The earlier you go, weirdly the shorter the journey will be. It'll take around 45-55mins to the centre of Paris. You can plan your journey on the RATP website.

The line is RER Line A (Red Line) and if you make your first stop the Arc de Triomphe, you can go directly from the Marne la Vallee/Chessy station to Charles de Gaulle Etoile, the stop for Arc de Triomphe.

We'll be making the journey next Wednesday

Its running forwards again now and it's a much tamer coaster that way. I thought I was going to die when we rode it backwards , it took a lot of persuasion to get me back on it.

Thats a shame, I actually preferred it backwards to forwards. But then I am a total rollercoaster nut!
