Could you DCL veterans out there give a first-timer a few tips on the first things to get done once on board on Saturday (reservations, spa, etc.)?

Best advice - go in with a plan. Do you want to do Palo? Which night? What do you want to do in the spa? Once you check in you'll get a sheet that tells you everything you need to know about where to go for reservations. If you can split up and take care of the tasks. Once that is done go have lunch and relax, then head to your cabin, check out the ship and have fun!

BTW - in case you didn't know - when you get your key to the world card your dining rotation will be on it if that helps you make your Palo resevations. The rotation will be listed with the frist letter of each resturant P= Parrot Cay, L= Lumieres A = Animators Palette.

Hope this helps.

For those of us who plan obsessively, we figured we'd most likely get the PLAPLAP rotation (which we did) but if by chance we got one of the other rotations, we had our night for Palo picked out in each instance. I think my least favorite restaurant is Animator's Palatte.

A number of people have made the point that Animator's Palette does not do the "Show" the the second time you eat dinner there on a seven night cruise. That is an especially good palo's night.

Seems to make sense to me.
