First thing you do

Punch in-- then if I brought breakfast I go to the cafeteria watch the news and eat if not I punch in and then run back out and buy breakfast and go to the cafeteria to eat and watch the news.

Clock in, Head to the board to see what room I am in that day.

Go to my room and set up my drug cart and check the machine.

Put my lunch int the fridge
Take the chairs down
Put toys on the center tables
Set up circle time
Relax for 5 minutes before 28 4 year olds descend on me
Love them :goodvibes

Grab a coffee and the newspaper and head to men's room

Lock up my purse, take off my shoes, put my hair in a pony tail, fill up my water bottle. Then I go set up my equipment for the day. I teach gymnastics.

Shut the door. Immediately. Always. Then I take off my coat, put away my purse and lunch, and jump right into emails, new incidences that happened overnight, trade periodicals that came out recently, relevant issues that should be posted and discussed on our FB page, upcoming meetings (both staff, customer and potential customer) and employee schedules.

The first hour of my morning is sacrosanct to me and I will bite (and have bitten) people's heads off if they interrupt me during it. I have groomed my "not a morning person" reputation carefully and guard it like it's gold because the first hour is THE MOST PRODUCTIVE hour of my day. I don't want to waste it yapping about people's weekends, what they did last night or what their sports team or NASCAR did on TV.

take my morning constituional on company time, I gotta clear my mind before work ya know :thumbsup2 (no coffee or newspaper needed)

I put my purse down and boot my computer. Then I head to the kitchen to make my breakfast and eat and chat with my other staff girls. I get to work at 8:30 and rarely do any actual work until after 9:00 and leave at 12:30.

I'm usually the first person in my office so the first thing I do is say "GOOD MORNING" to see if anyone is there. Sometimes there is one other person there with me.

Then:

Turn on computer
Check to see if I have any voicemails
Answer emails from the west coast that always come after I've left the office
Get my water and ice
Make or eat my breakfast
Get about an HOUR of work done before the rest of my dept slips in. I live 5 mins away while everyone else lives approx an hour away.

I love mornings!! :cloud9:

Well considering its 30min from the time I park my car to the time I punch in..

- Walk to bus stop
- Wait for bus since 95% of the time I just missed the last one.
- Take the 10min ride to the terminal
- Walk upstairs
- Enter the Employee TSA line, drop my stuff on the belt to be checked over, and step through the scanner usually at least 2x. This process can take longer when regular flying passengers get let into the employee line
- Wait for the tram out to my airside. Laugh at those who almost get caught in the door because they cannot wait 1min for the next oncoming tram
- Walk from the tram to my office location(at least a 5min walk)
- Clock In
- Get logged into the PC, pull my paperwork from the night before
- Chat with coworkers and supervisors in the office about the previous days stuff and anything I need to know.
- Get a cup of coffee, hit the potty, eat some food
- Work!

Ahh they joys of working at the airport.

-Have a short talk with the guy I am relieving about how the machines ran for him, problems, etc.
-Hang up jacket and hard hat.
-Put food for the day in fridge
-Plug in I-pad and cell phone
-Get a cup of coffee.

close the door of my office door and eat breakfast while I check email and voicemail and make any return emails/phone calls that are necessary. Do anything the Dean requires immediately. Check the calendar for our conference room to see if anything is going on in there and if it needs setting up by maintainence. Then I reopen my door and am ready to meet the students and instructors and their needs for the day.

I used to turn on my computer and go fill my cup with water and ice. Then I'd turn on the copier and head back to my desk to get working.

No one else was in the office when I got there (usually by 8am and the office didn't open until 9am) and I wasn't a chatty person at work since I wanted to get my work done so I could leave on time to pick up the kids from daycare.

I made coffee for others a couple of times until I heard someone complaining about how awful the coffee was and who made it? so I quit doing that. I'm not a coffee drinker so I had no idea how much to put in the machine. LOL

Get to work
Put my makeup on in the car
Go inside, put lunch away
Turn on lights and copy machine (they're outside in the hall)
Go into the office (I am the first one there)
Check paper (some reports print overnight)
Turn on my computer
Distribute faxes
Plug in phone and IPod
Print my reports before the machines are tied up
Punch in

I start at 8, as do 2 or 3 others. Everyone else starts at 830 and they're so noisy I love the peace and quiet beforehand!
