Hi everyone! I am a college student going on my first summer trip in July, and doing it solo. I've gone every year since childhood, but we have always gone in the fall. I've done (shorter) solo trips before, so I know all the ins and outs of fastpass, single rider, utilizing morning/evening hours, etc. I am still concerned about crowds, though, as I'm not used to waiting much. Between single rider and always having a fastpass I've never had to. During summer is it common for fastpasses to run out for most rides later in the day?

Anyway, I'm going to do a Tuesday-Saturday trip, either July 10-14 (the week after the 4th) or July 17-21. Based on crowds, which of those two weeks would you choose?

Thank you all!

You can expect FP to run out pretty quick. When I worked at DLR for my college program I worked at Finding Nemo. We used to watch how fast the Space Mountain fast passes would sell out, and make a game out of it. There would be some days where they would be gone by 10-11 am. This goes for all of the high volume FP rides. Unfortunately there is no way to avoid the crowds if you are going over the summer.

Looks like we will be there July 10-14 too and I see no difference between your dates. Being solo with Single Rider I suspect you will have a very easy time of it.

Most FPs for Space Mtn, Indy, Splash and Star Tours will be available until 3-5PM each day. BTMRR will have FPs late into the night. Since Splash and Indy have single rider, then you really can dedicate all your FPs for Space Mtn and ST.

At DCA things are more uncertain because of Cars Land and RSR. But with the longer park hours you should be fine. GRR and Screamin have single rider, so you can use all your FPs for Soarin and ToT and of course Radiator Springs Racers. Soarin and ToT will have FPs all day until at 6PM. ToT usually into the evening.

The key of course is to arrive early, collect FPs, and do the slow loading rides before it gets overly crowded.

Thank you all! It's looking like I'll be doing July 10th to 14th. Arriving early on the 10th and leaving late on the 14th, doing all five days in the park. So that's about 4.25 days in the parks total. Staying at the Candy Cane as usual.

As a solo traveller who can definitely handle getting there early and staying til close, do you all think five days will be enough time? That's what we've always done in the fall and it's been enough time to do everything. Just not sure with the summer crowds.

That should be plenty of time. You will be able to move around the park easily, find viewing spots easier and not have to stop as much for restrooms when solo. You can ride some of the E-tickets multiple times.

Use Single rider lines and FP on the other attractions that don't have it.

Matterhorn will be on that Single Rider Line list for your visit too.

If we can do everything, plus shows, and ride certain rides multiple times in the summer with a family of 4 over the same number of days, you can most definitely do it solo. We'll be there during the same time (7-12 for us).
