I just switched part of my AKL stay to Riviera!
I own at AKL and every time I think about staying someplace different, I usually just can’t do it - I love my zebra and giraffe too much.
But Riviera was available for the second half of my trip - the idea of being right on the skyliner was too tempting to pass up - so I’m doing a split stay.
What are your favorite things/best tips?
So excited!!

We just stayed at Riviera in August. LOVED it. It was such a great location and we loved the pools. We don't need a lot of fancy pool stuff so we just found it very relaxing.

Riviera is the only DVC we haven'''t stayed at yet but I have been around the resort and it looks great.

same here. hard for us to pick a different resort than AK.

AK is the best theme park too.

The Riviera is a lovely resort and we’re staying there (for our 3rd stay) early next month. We enjoy the smaller footprint of the resort. The restaurants are great. And the rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. I know it can be difficult to book at a different resort when you have a clear favorite, but we try to do so every so often. Visiting other resorts is always fun, but staying there gives you another perspective from which to plan future trips. And we have often (although not always) done split stays for just that reason. We love the Skyliner; it’s a nice change from the buses.

The Rivera is fabulous! My favorite resort after staying there twice.
My Petite Cafe, Skyliner, quiet pool, size is 2 bedroom.
Also, Bar Riva, views, Primo Piatto and the library.
I have not eaten at Topolinos yet!

I stayed twice recently at Grand Florian DVC, once in the new studio. That resort is 2nd.

If you have groceries they will not fridgerate the cold stuff for transfer if you do not have a car.
I like to be in the parks on the switch day. Leave the luggage with the hop services and later in the afternoon just go over to the New Resort! 😎👍🏻

We've never stayed there, but we do a trip over there for Primo Piatto almost every trip.

Keep an eye on the weather. If it starts to look sketchy, and with lightening, make sure you get to your destination before they shut the skyliner down. The skyliner is great when it's working, but when it shuts down with short notice, they are slow to get the buses up and running.

I noticed that on my last trip just going from DHS to the Boardwalk. They had shut down the Skyliner, so we walked to the bus stop … and then they reopened the skyliner 🙄

Isn't that the way it always goes!!! LOL!!!

We are doing our first RIV stay in Feb. Enjoyed AKL (value) last time.

Every time I'm on the Skyliner going by RIV I wonder how difficult it is to get a group on a gondola when there's a line at the station (since it's a midpoint). Is it annoying trying to get to a park in the morning?

I haven’t stayed there yet - but I have taken the bus to dhs and then taken the skyliner to epcot so that I could rope drop at the international gate. Never had to wait long - but I also avoid busy season.
