First stay at the Boardwalk...loved it!!!

I won a free stay at one of the Disney Resorts and so I decided to choose the Boardwalk because I had never stayed there before but always wanted to. So, we decided to get away for a weekend without the kids and had a great time! We had a beautiful room. I wish it hadn't rained all weekend, but we made the best of it. I took some pictures to share with everyone here. Hope you enjoy!

Wow, congratulations on your free stay! You must be a very intelligent person to have picked Boardwalk to stay at. I'm glad you enjoyed it there (I love it too!) and that you had a great weekend in spite of the weather.

Congrats!!! Glad you had a great stay. How did you win a free trip? Just wondering, it saounds great since I just got back 2 weeks ago and am itching to get there again!!!!!

I got the free trip because I am a concierge in Orlando, and Disney had a contest a few months ago for guest service people in Orlando who sold tickets. You had to sell alot of 5 day hoppers and 7 day premium tickets. The prizes were stacked so everytime I hit a new level I won that prize. The top prize was a stay at a resort and two Cirque tickets. All together I won Disney passes, movie tickets, dinner certificates (used those at Jiko, YUM!) Cirque tickets and the Disney stay. All that for just doing my job. What could be better than that?

momof3-WOW! That is awesome. When I was waitress we would have contests...like, if the restaurant had a surplus of steaks...whoever sold the most steaks that night got a free dinner for two or something. Well, now I am skeptical every time a waiter is pushing a certain item too hard! LOL! The nice thing is, you don't have to push too hard to get folks to buy Disney tickets!

Anyway, thanks for your post. We are staying at BW for the first time ever in Oct (in the villas) and I am so PSYCHED...mainly cuz of the awesome location near Epcot, MGM, the actual boardwalk...Swalphin, Y&BC, etc! Lots to do there!

No, it's not hard to push people to buy Disney tickets, but the key is getting them to buy more days! That is what the contest was about since most people go for the 3 or 4 day ticket. It didn't count towards the contest unless it was a 5 day or more ticket. Right now there is a Universal contest going on, so that is what I am pushing hard this month!

WOW that is an awesome prize. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay even with the rain. I love the shops and restaraunts along the Boardwalk. Last time we were there I was thinking how nice it would be to get a room right above the bakery.
