first stay at BCV... any suggestions?

We just recently booked our first stay at the Beach Club Villas for the last week in October! This will actually be our first stay at any of the DVC resorts. Any suggestions, tips, or basically anything thoughts about the BCV to get us even more excited about our trip? I'm really looking forward to staying there during the F & W Festival at Epcot! So close to so much good food!!! We have a 4 yr old and a 1 year old so I'm hoping to use SAB a few times too! I'm also trying to talk DH into hiring a sitter from Kids Night Out one night so we have some time to ourselves to enjoy World Showcase, dinner at Le Cellier and walk around the Boardwalk, Beach & Yacht club. The sitter would probably cost about $100 for 5 hours... would it be worth it?

Can't wait to get there! Unfortunately Oct. is tooooooooooooooo far away!

We are not DVC members yet. We have gone back and forth about joining, mainly due to the cost. We have two young children and I have been diagnosed with MS a couple years ago. So large medical expenses could creep up at any time due to my MS. We decided to rent someones points for this trip. Who knows, maybe after our first trip at a DVC resort we'll decide to take the plunge.

Try a different Gelatto every night while you are there at the BCV market. Le Cellier is fantastic. Their meats are the best in Epcot. You can also rent a boat and see the fireworks by boat.

Go to Beaches and Cream and if there are enough of you, order the Kitchen Sink - a very large ice cream treat.

You can also walk to mini golf on the other side of the Swan.

I just booked our first dvc trip for sept 20-27 at bcv. Very excited. We are bringing our 4 kids (all under 5yo) and our best friends (to help with the kids of course). I booked a 2br villa and didn't know if there were any suggestions from all of the BCV vets as to room requests or suggestions. Thanks for any input...

Some BCV rooms have a good view of Epcot's fireworks. The down side of this is there's no point in putting the kids to bed before 9:00 since they will be up with the first blast.
If that doesn't sound good, request a room away from the Epcot side, but you will probably still hear some noise anyway.

Your older child will probably love the entertainment on the Boardwalk, and is likely to be asked to be in the show.

For most BCV rooms it's almost as close to walk to Epcot as it is to walk to the boat dock. There's a "rear" walkway that exits very close to the bridge to Epcot (it's on the BCV map).
