First Souvenier from Disney that you can remember?

My first Disney Souvenir is what other than the classic black mickey mouse ears which are still in my room. My favorite souvenir's would have to be my pins.

The first thing I remember getting from Disney was plastic Pooh and Tigger toys when I was 4 I still have them too!

The first thing I remember buying in WDW is a Copper stuffed animal from the Emporium. I was 6, and a huge fan of Fox & the Hound. I remember begging my mother for both Copper and Tod, but two stuffed animals weren't in her budget. Luckily, she ordered one over the phone when we got home, and had it sent to me for my birthday. I was so happy. It's been 31 years since then, and Copper & Tod are now sitting happily together in my guest room.

I'm sure I had many souvenirs before this...but the first one I can remember was getting one of the umbrellas with the hand painted name on them. I still have mine 25+ years later...I saw a girl with one on my last trip and told her that I still have mine.

I also remember that I really wanted my mom and dad to buy me those Minnie Mouse dresses....no luck...as soon as my daughter is able to fit in that XS size we are getting it! Goodbye $50...hello finally being able to get the dress!! Lol!!!

On my first visit to WDW in 1992, on the very first day I saw a musical figurine of Belle (it played the Beauty and the Beast theme) on Main Street and I spent my entire vacation thinking about it and going back to "visit" it. It was forty dollars, which was a lot of money for me on that trip so I kept dithering about it. Finally on my last day I bought it, and all these years later I still love it:

When Magic Kingdom was the only park, I asked for and received a Minnie Mouse in a pink polka dot sundress.

A Mickey Mouse coin bank.
However when I was really little a family friend of ours went to one of the parks I can't remember which one and brought me back a framed picture of Mickey and Minnie.

In ...90, 89? I got minnie ears - the ones that are on a headband. I had them FOREVER on my wall. I wonder if my mom still has them...

These are excellent stories!!! It is so great to hear the different types of souvenirs throughout the years.

If you found that you item was very valuable and you still had it --- would you sell it? I feel like I would have a hard time parting with anything I got in Disney!

It was my first souvenir and I love it, but maybe I would sell it if it were worth a lot of money-to put towards another WDW trip!

Mickey Ears, and the Musket from POTC
