First Souvenier from Disney that you can remember?

My mouse ears in 2001!

Non-traditionally I got a baby Goofy and a Madame Alexander Wendy and Alex Mouseketeers set with my mother (to go with the Madame A collection she's been collecting since she was a little girl) on the same trip!

From my first trip in 1977 (five years old): plush Mickey, WDW keychain, and a pirate head carved out of a coconut (probably from the Poly).

My first trip in 1976 (five years old): A Davy Crockett pop-gun. Proud to say I still have it!

A sailor hat with my name and Mickey etched in. Unsure where it is now as I was very young when I owned this. It was adorable. I have not seen these hats at Disney in over a decade, but it would be nice to replace it.

My great-aunt and uncle lived in Florida when I was little and sent me my first pair of monogrammed ears some time in the early 80s as a hint for my parents to take me on a trip.

Didn't work--they just didn't have the Disney spirit.

My first actual trip was over college spring break in 1997. I bought a souvenir spaceship earth plastic drink mug. I still have it--looks like spaceship earth with a handle :goodvibes

I have been making regular trips to the world with the same person who showed me the magic in 1997, then DBF, now DH. I wouldn't have it any other way. :lovestruc

I was 13 and I wanted a "grown up" souvenier. I had saved up $100(that was a lot for me in 1989) and I bought a beautiful sandstone Pinocchio figurine. I still have him and he was my first piece of Disney art. I have been in love with Disney and Disney Art ever since!

I was 5 years old when my parents took me to Disney Land for the first time. It was also my first airplane ride.

Anyway, I got a Goofy doll that was taller than me! When we went to check in for our flight home, He wouldn't fit in a bag, and I refused to give him to the ticket agent to be checked and threw a fit until I was allowed to bring him on the plane with me. If I remember correctly, another fit was thrown on the plane when I was told he had to be shoved into the overhead compartment when we took off....

Long story short, Goofy got buckled into his own seat, got his own drinks/peanuts AND his very own pair of glorious plastic wings!

The first souvenir that I remember was a Big Al stuffed animal from my second visit to WDW in 1981. I was 6 (in the back).

My first trip to WDW was with our HS band when I was about 15. I remember buying a souvenir for my then 4-year-old nephew -- an Epcot Tshirt that had Mickey and all the flags of world showcase on it.

He's 26 now :headache: Doubt the tshirt still fits.

My group of friends also bought coral rings from this little shop that was right on the fence that surrounds WS Lagoon. We kept putting our fists together together and saying, "Wonder Quadruplet Powers, Active. Form oooof an ice slide!" (or something equally silly). Ahhhh, what happy little, nerdy goof-balls we were :)

:thumbsup2 That is awesome.

The first thing I bought in WDW was during our trip in 1982. It was 2 months before my 6th bday, and I was in love with the movie Fox and the Hound. My mom took me to the Emporium on Main St, and told me to choose a stuffed animal. I was torn between Copper and Tod; it was an agonizing decision.

I finally chose Copper--and I have a pic of me proudly holding him on Main Street. However, by the time we got home to CT, I was devastated that I had to separate Copper from Tod. I was convinced that Copper was lonely without his friend. My parents called WDW, and surprised me with Tod for my bday.

Almost 30 years later, they are still my favorite souvenirs.

This thread would be a better fit on the theme parks community board, so I'm going to move it there now.

My first souvenir was an Eeyore mug I bought in January of 1992 when I took my sister for the first time for either of us. We both bought a mug and years later after much use, mine broke. A few years after that, my sister gave me hers as a birthday gift. She was flat broke at the time and felt it was a lousy gift to give me but I couldn't have been happier! I still have the mug. :goodvibes

I have a couple of souvenirs from 1975, two books about the making of Disney World, and a large poster of the Magic Kingdom.

ajleone - That Epcot coin was my first souvenier at Disney! As I was coming to this last page to write about it I saw your picture. That brings back some memories. I got mine in February of 86. My brother got a stuffed Figment.

That's cool! I can't believe I managed to not lose it all these years LOL

It has been great to read these. It brings back so many memories!

I was going through more of my stuff.... I found my minnie visor that I wore all around the park :)
