Hey, Im David, I am 17, turning 18 only June 30th.

For my birthday, Im just asking for money, and going to spend it going to WDW by myself.

So, tips for singles?
Things to do outside of the world?
Any good music venues (especially punk clubs)

Thanks

I did my first solo WDW trip at 19 and it was fantastic. Sadly Pleasure Island has shut down the clubs which were a big part of my nighttime entertainment but you can always check out the live band at Raglan Road or go to the Atlantic Dance Hall or see if there's anyone playing at the House of Blues you might be interested in.

Take advantage of any single rider lines you see and don't be afraid to chat people up in them. I actually met a guy I ended up dating for a while in the Test Track single rider line a few trips ago.

If you're a sit-down dinner kind of person, I've always met some great people at Teppan Edo in Epcot and at the Biergarten.

Can't give much advice on off property things as I spend almost all my time on property, but I did enjoy Wizarding World on my last trip. The City Walk area of Universal also looks like a good place to spend an evening.

Good for you, David! Sadly, there isn't a lot to do at night at Disney World, especially for those in your age bracket, but I'd think House of Blues or Atlantic Dance Hall would be your best bets. Otherwise, if you have access to a car, you might want to just head over to CityWalk at Universal. There's a lot more to do over there for people your age.

Have a blast!

House of Blues and Hard Rock Live over at Universal have live bands all the time. A few weeks ago Social D was at HOB. I didn't go but several friends went and they had a blast. I personally saw Flogging Molly there and thought it was a great venue. Hard Rock Live is hosting 311 tomorrow night.

There are some other clubs in downtown Orlando that have lots of local punk/rock bands playing. If you look up WJRR online (it is our local rock station), you will see an event calendar and more venue info. Some shows are all ages, some are 21 or 18 + up.

Hope this helps.

SHAME ON YOU FOR MISSING SOCIAL DISTORTION!

I saw Flogging molly at HOB once.... the guys standing next to me died... true story.

I wish I could have gone, however we had to decide between Social D or going to Food & Wine at EPCOT. The food and wine/beer won out! :rotfl:

Good luck on your trip! Hope you have a blast.
