I just booked my airfare for my very first solo trip! I am nervous and excited at the same time. I got on the waitlist for a studio anywhere for Oct. 13-16 and it came through in 2 days! Which surprised me with all the developer points that disney is giving out.

Anyhow, the husband is taking care of the kids so i can take a break, which I really totally deserve. Now to plan!

I am thinking of doing Jellyrolls, the adventurer's club and the comedy club and the F&W Festival, a Eat to the Beat Concert and see the fireworks, of course!!

Sorry to ramble, I never thought I would get to do this.:cool1:

I am soooooo jealous. I dream about a trip like that. I am sure you will have a fantabulous time.

Tammy!
You'll love your first solo trip.
I had my first solo in January and it was amazing.
I'm there from the 12th to the 20th.

You'll have such a good time that soon you'll be planning a 2nd solo trip!!! It's nice to get to do anything that interests you when it suits you. Jellyrolls is the only bar I go to solo, but have always felt comfortable there by myself - over the years I've come to know the pianomen and the great bar staff and if a problem should arise, just talk to them.

Of course wandering around the WS, taking in the F&W Fest and catching a concert or 2 is just icing on the cake.

I'm heading down in a couple of weeks for my 1st solo trip in a while and CAN'T WAIT!!! Will meet up with a couple of DISers and CM friends while there, but mostly looking forward to doing WDW at my own pace...

ENJOY!!!! :cool1:

Awesome! You will have a great time on your first solo trip! I had my first solo trip in May and it was incredible!

Well, I booked my airfare yesterday, and then a ding came up today, so I rebooked at the lower fare, two one ways, but now I am leaving on Tuesday at 7 in the morning. I have done this before and we had to get up really really early, like at dark thirty. lol. I could leave later in the day but the fare is triple! I am hoping for an october fare sale to rebook the return flight at a more reasonable fare and a later time.

If I get a hopper and only get to use three days, that will make me sad. I am thinking about skipping the parks entirely and doing MNNSHP, pleasure island, jellyrolls and so forth. But, I am really wanting to do the parks!! ;)

Okay so I'm the Disney fan in my house. I'm 47- married 22 years and I have a 16DD and 19 DS. I went 3 years ago (coinciding with business) and had a great time (w/ the exception of bad weather). My recommendation is to select the special tours and behind the scenes events that you might not chose otherwise. Next Janaury 17th I have business in New Orleans and I'm flying my son from Univ. of Colorado Boulder (2nd year) to Orlando for 4 days- we're staying at AK concierge to do Sunset Sufari (first time) and we'll hit US/IOA ViP tour, Seaworld, and Epcot/MGM- after that I have 5 days on my own! I'm planning on Keys to the MK, Behind the Magic, and looking into others. Have a great time.

That is a great idea. I never thought about doing tours. I think i get a discount too as a DVC member. Guess I will go and check the website for discounts.

Congratulations on booking your solo trip. I have been thinking of taking a solo trip for awhile. The food & wine festival looks like a fun thing to do solo

Solo trips, especially during the Food & Wine Fest, are alot of fun. You can meander around the World Showcase at your own pace, sampling foods (and drinks) that interest you. Also there's the Eat to the Beat concert series to take in...

Hope you decide to do one!!!

Congrats on your solo trip. Its nice to vacation and only have to stick to one person's schedule...YOURS! :thumbsup2
