Hello Everyone!!I am excited about making my first solo trip to Disneyland and I see that everyone is very good at giving insight and advice, so I am hoping for some. :) I am staying at PPH for 4 nights. I am planning on leaving Vegas early on Saturday morning driving to Oceanside to see Mission San Luis Rey first then arriving at PPH sometime after 3 pm. That evening I am hoping to see/listen to the swing music for the first time, is there one time better than the rest? I am also hoping to catch the fireworks and maybe Fantasmic! for the first time also. ( I know after all my visits I have yet to see it, most of my visits are mid week as that is when my "weekend" is.) Then Sunday I want to drive down to San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point to go to the Mission there and then go to the Ocean Institute. That evening I was hoping on going to Trader Sam's for dinner etc. Monday I would like to visit DCA, I know I would like to lunch at Carthay Circle, ride Little Mermaid, visit Duffy and in the evening I have signed up for the anniversary party. Tuesday at Disneyland the only thing planned so far is ride the Grand Circle Tour on the train. Are they still allowing people to ride tinder? Then Wednesday I was thinking before leaving for home doing Surf's Up for breakfast. Has anyone gone solo before? Is it worth it? I love Storytellers and Goofy's Kitchen but never gone solo. Thank you guys so much!!! :)

I have gone solo to DL and WDW, and I love it! You can wake up and head out when you want, ride, shop, wander, eat when you want. You can take a nap mid day, stay out all night, or head back early. Sometimes I just sit on Main Street, eating popcorn and people watching.

I have done two solo trips to DLR - both short. One for 2.5 days and one for a day trip.

When you are alone it is so much easier to move around and find spots for shows. Using single rider lines for rides is a no brainer.

I tend to actually go slower and look at things more and take way more pictures. I tend to eat much less at table service and more at places like Flo's and Plaza Inn. It just seems strange to me to go into a place like CCR or BB alone at a table.

Not sure if that helps at all!

Well I guess I am a weirdo then Hydroguy because I don't personally have a problem dining at the Blue Bayou by myself. Good thing too, otherwise I would very much miss dining there.
Op, if considering dining at the Blue Bayou, please don't be deterred in doing so just because your by yourself. I don't. And no one cares about it! Not the wait staff, not Disney Dining, not the staff at check in, not the other guests, not the pirates ;) etc so on.....
While on the subject....I love their Surf n' Turf and also the Tesoro Island Chicken. :)
Your itinerary sounds like a lot of fun! I too have a big interest in CA history and that of the missions.

Have an awesomely magical and spectacular trip!

Gisele, so that was YOU I saw at a BB table eating alone on my last trip! ;)

I should have qualified that when I am at DLR with my family we almost always dine at BB. I think the ambiance lends itself more to a group. But maybe I am the weird one!

Lol.....yes that be me or is that I :faint: I like having the entire table to myself, don't ya' know? No sharing! ;)

I've never done Blue Bayou solo, but I have done a lot of table service and a couple of character meals. I never feel weird at all!

Awesome! Thank you for the great responses. I will let you all know when I come back how everything was. I made my reservations for PCH Grill Surf's Up and Carthay Circle. I am getting excited 5 days to go! Again thank you! :)

I have just recently done a solo trip and I was both scared and excited for it.
I found myself talking to more strangers than I normally do and I met some great people. I also found I did everything I wanted to do way earlier than I do when I'm with other people.

I did notice other people tried to take advantage of my solo state by trying to push past me in lines. One lady even elbowed me on the Haunted Mansion. That has never happened to me before and I assumed it was because I was alone it appeared to be easier to squeeze past me. I have had line cutters before but not people trying to take advantage of the empty space by me to squeeze past me casually.

The other sad thing about being alone was that I couldn't get my water opened and I had to ask someone to open it for me. The person I asked gave me a very strange look. Other than that solo trip was great!

I love (love) solo time at DLR! IMO it never feels lonely visiting alone. But you have to remember to pace yourself, or if you're a big kid at heart (like me) you might run yourself ragged before you realize it.
