First Solo Trip...actually, First Trip to WDW ever...yikes!

I'll be going to wdw in Nov too :cool1: It wil be my 1st solo trip and I am soo excited. Just the thought of doing what i want, when i want is great. Yes, I'll miss having someone to share the xmas lights with and maybe even other things; but this will be MY time to just explore, Shop (we all know how much guys like to shop :thumbsup2 ). Even just to lounge around the resort, pool or pool bar.
Plus, more than likely you'll find someone to talk with while waiting in line or at the parades.
Enjoy your time at Disney

Thanks, cajunbaby1!!! I hope you have a great first solo trip, too!

I'm actually getting more and more excited about going solo and exploring WDW for the first time. 63 days & counting! :cool1:

you need a ticker so that everyone knows when your next trip is
plus it's really cool to see when it gets to single digits..

I'm going solo here in a week and a half... first time as well. I was thinking about a tour, but I've been mroe focused on the dining. I've planned the dining event with an Imagineer and one with the Chef at Flying Fish. I just heard from my friend who is in Disney World now that on Wednesdays they are starting to offer dining with an Animal Kingdom animal caretaker... I'm going to call WDW DINE tomorrow and ask waht they know!

That is so exciting, DummbGiRL!!! It sounds like you will have a fun dining experience all planned out!!! Sounds very cool to dine with an Imagineer and have one-on-one time with them. Hope you were able to get the dining option with the AK caretaker! I can't wait to read your trip report and how it all went going solo for the first time!!!

Have a fun trip!

You will have a wonderful time. And will be amazed how big WDW is!

Some items I take when I go solo
1. smallest bag I can carry all my stuff. I actually bought boy shorts with lots of pockets for Harry Potter so I didn't have to get a locker. Worked great.

2. A book to read, or a pad to write when I want to just sit.

3. Go early. A map, and list of what I want to do. Any confo #'s I need for the day. I am commando when solo, but by 11-noon I slow down to "see the roses".

4. Really good shoes! My choices are Keen and Croc, both with socks. I know, geeky, but at 62, the pain out weights the gain. Average guest walks 6-10 miles a day!

5. I usually go on a tour. This next trip is Marceline to Magic Kingdom. New to me.

6. Offer to take pictures for couples/families. After the wary look, they always say yes. One day I took pictures for 6 groups.

Be sure to let us know how it went

Sounds like a great trip mygizmo. You can just do what you want, when you want.

I do wish I had your, and ExpatDisneyLover, problem about forgetting to eat. I love food and trying new things! Maybe if I was like a cow and has 5 stomachs I'd be set.

I can't wait until my first solo trip. I am planning my first solo trip next year and leaning towards Japan. I will diffitenly work in Toyko Disney to my plans.

Thanks for those tips, KittyKitty!!! Love the ideas…I will definitely take them in consideration!

As for #5, I’ve actually booked the Backstage Magic Tour. Have you gone on that tour? I’m hoping it will be interesting.

A solo trip to Japan sounds so cool, gundo870! I definitely think I’ll remember to eat if I was going to Japan. Love Japanese food!

Hope you make it to Tokyo Disney! I visited Hong Kong Disney in 2002…in its early stages. I remember it being pretty small but still very Disney cute! :)
