We leave in 3 days for our first MNSSHP trip, we will be there the 19th-28th.. Typically we travel in May but wanted to do something different this year.. What should we expect?

We will be there the 19th through 27th and have never been in September either. We've been in February, May, June, August and December but never September. We've been to MVMCP but not MNSSHP. Also interested in what others have to say.

We go every year in September and we love it!

It's generally HOT and HUMID. There tend to be isolated downpours throughout the day and especially in the late afternoon.

The Halloween party is my most favorite event at Disney - with Food & Wine as a close second! We plan our trip each year to attend both.

What else would you like to know about traveling in September?

Expect Halloween decorations in MK. Food and Wine at Epcot at the end of your stay. Temps typically around 89F with 90+% humidity. No tour groups or cheerleaders. Park hours are generally shorter: 9pm close for MK and EP. 7:30 for HS, and 5pm for AK. A great time to go IMO. All of our four previous trips, plus this year, have been late Sept and it is an awesome time.

Historically, crowds are at the lowest point of the year, but from the reports I've been seeing the last couple of weeks, I'm expecting moderate crowd levels. Certainly better than peak summer months though!!!

I've done September before. I lucked out because that last time was hot, but not too too humid. We survived with about high 80s, low 90s. But the weather lately sounds, well, yuck, so i wont be looking forward to that. Other than that, it's my fav time with Halloween decorations in the Magic Kingdom, Food & Wine, Not So Scary, and lower crowds :) You'll have a great time!

RAIN! I am headed down a day earlier......I went last year a week later, still rain....

I am expecting it to be medium busy, still hot, so shorts and sandals for me.....

We just returned from a trip August 29th to September 6th. We had never been this time of year either. We usually go in November and had been once in March. Turns out, we loved it! We are from South Texas so the heat did not bother us too much. It did rain a few days in the late afternoon and once in the evening, but nothing that lasted very long. The crowds were much, much lighter than we are used to in November, although the crowd calendar numbers were the same. I'm not sure if the crowds were so low due to the fact that people thought Hurricane Erika was coming in or if it's always that slow this time of year. Most days we would take a mid-day break and go to the pool. We took off a couple of days. Don't know if you are doing the water parks, but we also went to Blizzard Beach, which the first time we have done a water park. We really enjoyed that. Overall, due to the low crowd levels, I think we will probably make late August/early September our preferred time to go to Disney! Enjoy your trip!

Warm (I'm from Georgia it ain't hot until it's 100) humid, it will rain, it might be a short pleasant shower, it might be a downpour. The mornings and nights are a little cooler, especially if it rains late afternoon toward sunset, I have to wear a sweater (again wimpy southerner). I've been April, May, August, September and October and while others will say it's less crowded I think I only go during the less crowded times because it never seems different to me.
