"He's so handsome...just like his reward posters!" -Robin Hood
The kids came back from swimming and changed back into their clothes so we could make our way to the Beach Club. Daisy changed her skirt for white bermuda shorts since we would be going on rides. We caught the bus to Blizzard Beach
and then a bus from there to Beach Club. The only drawback I can see for staying at the boardwalk area hotels is that they all share one bus.
We got off the bus at Beach Club and asked a CM for directions to Beaches and Cream. The directions were a little vague and we got a bit lost and had to ask another CM for directions again. She was really nice and walked us right to the check in podium.
We checked in and then sat on the porch to wait. The Stormalong the Bay pool looks like an amazing amount of fun!
The wait wasn't to long and we were seated at a booth towards the back of the restaurant. Daisy and Joey were having some sort of spat yet still insisted on sitting by each other.
I did threaten to sit between them but they shaped up and concentrated on what to order from the menu. I would have loved for all of us to share a Kitchen Sink but my plain vanilla loving kids would never go for it. Having perused lots of food reviews and pictures I knew that I wanted the No Way Jose. I had hoped someone would share it with me, since I knew it was huge, but no one else was interested in it. Our orders came out quickly-
Plain orange sherbet for Adam.
David got the Fudge Mud Slide.
A two scoop hot fudge sundae for Aunt Pat.
Daisy got Frozen Sunshine that looked so good!
Joey's huge three scoop hot fudge sundae.
And my No Way Jose.
After our enormous ice cream snacks we walked along the porch of the Beach Club and then took a boat across the to the boardwalk.
Our plan was to let the kids play some games at ESPNzone, but when we got there we found out that David's ESPNzone game cards from Anaheim wouldn't work there. So we changed gears and headed back up the boardwalk to the surrey bike stand.
We saw they had a bike for six people and the kids really wanted to do it, so we decided to try it. As it turned out the group right before us rented both of the six person bikes that they had sitting there, so we thought we were out of luck. The CM said he would go check the warehouse since he knew that they had another one that was being fixed that morning and it might be ready. He came back shortly with the six person bike. We arranged ourselves on it and we were off for our two laps around the boardwalk area.
Some of the views around there are breath taking.
It was fun to take in the sights from the vantage point of the bike. It also was a lot of work too! There are two hills along the loop and David had to do most of the work for those. On the second time around half way up the second hill Aunt Pat said "Where's Lance Armstrong when you need him?"
We heard "Right here." and we felt a surge from the back.
One of the many joggers in the area had heard her and taken that moment to start pushing us up the hill. It was both startling and hysterical at the same time. Once we were at the top of the hill we thanked him and he jogged away. We finished up the second loop and our legs thanked us for turning the bike back in.
