First right of refusal?

We are considering a first time purchase for DVC, we really want BWV. The resell option is appealing, however we are concerned about the first right of refusal for Disney to purchase the contract back. Is this happening? What is Disney's floor price?

There is no stated floor price nor is there any consistent pattern to which contracts have Disney exercising ROFR. Educate yourself in the thread on this forum regarding which contracts have passed and which have been taken. It's the ROFR thread for January to June 2015 (link below). Within that thread there are links to go back further to see other prices that passed or were taken last year. All you can really do is arm yourself with information, find a contract, make an offer, and if it's accepted, wait it out in ROFR and see what happens. If it doesn't pass, you start the process over.

If your contract is taken by Disney, just try again! And if you need the points right now, rent points! You'll still be much better off than buying direct. Good luck!

I have a BWV contract in rofr right now...I'm the seller and it's stripped. Sold for $69 which is the lowest I've seen on boardwalk I'll let you know if it passes. Prices have shot up lately they were averaging around $75 now it's a little higher

We just completed a purchase at AK. The ROFR took between 2 & 3 weeks but we passed without any issues. My understanding is that it is not a problem in less you really low-ball the price. If we were to add to what we have, I would use a reseller again!

It is really hard to predict when ROFR will be applied, sometimes DVD will allow contracts that are a bargain go through and then take one that is a little overpriced. More contracts are ROFRd that are a bargain price than those that are little high. I think you just need to keep in mind that hundreds of deeds go through ROFR each month and less than 50 sometimes 70 are ROFRd. Good luck.
