First ride (FP) of the day

Hi all

We will be at DLP for six nights, meaning six chances to get up, be at the parks early and run to the first ride of the day.

So I am thinking Crush, BTM, RnR, and SM as the biggies that spring to mind.

What do you guys and girls suggest as must do first rides of the day or even first FPs of the day whilst riding something else.

We are a group of me and DW 29 & 27 plus DS, BIL plus three neices 14, 12 & 9. So four thrill seekers, one 50-50 and two wimps.

Any ideas, as ever, greatly appreciated.

taking on board what a lot of people on the boards have said, crush is probably a good choice

we don't tend to get up for park opening, so our first ride just tends to be wherever we end up that doesnt have a queue!!

Peter Pan gets VERY busy.

yeah - definitely do this first thing AND get a fastpass if you enjoy it as the fastpasses tend to run out around 3pm!

I think something like Crush or Peter Pan for the first ride, beat the queues. As for the last ride, it has to be Big Thunder Mountain. When you reach the top and it's dark, you can see the whole park lit up. It's one of the reasons I prefer BTM to the faster rides (even though I'm a speed freak!)

Last ride of the day HAS to be Phantom Manor!

Hmmm.... perhaps. In that case, wait until it's dark, ride Big Thunder Mountain and then run the short distance to Phantom Manor.

I concur. BTM is great on a night when it's all lit up

Phantom Manor is a great 'wind down' ride. Plus, on a night the walk out of the park after it is wonderful.

Last week we didn't use any fast passes and still got on the 'big rides' with the exception of BTM with little or no queue. Space Mountain I walked on twice in a row, DH only had to wait one train for his turn.
Rock N Roller Coaster was the same, no wait at all when we went on it.
Queue for Crush was always huge when we were in the area so never tried that one. That's one I reckon you would have to run for.
By the afternoon all of the rides with a few exceptions were walk ons....Dumbo was always busy, sometimes the carousel was but other times it was dead, Autopia always had massive queues (not sure why, it didn't look that thrilling to me!) and most other things as I said were either walk straight on or one ride's wait.
In the EMH though things were much busier. We were lucky and used our GMF Breakfast to full advantage with Dumbo, Carousel and Teacups. On Friday we went into Adventureland at rope drop, everyone ran for Autopia and Space mountain, but the other rides were clear, we went on Orbitron several times in a row. I guess if you really want to run in and do that then crack on, but we def preferred to saunter around and see what queues suited us more.

We were there last week as well. Get to the Studios at about 9:30am, as they were letting people all the way in by then. We were in the Crush queue straightaway, and had managed to get two rides in before 10:15am. The only queues we had all weekend were a 30 minute queue at BTM (fastpasses are currently out of action on it) and a couple of the Fantasyland rides (Peter Pan and Dumbo I think). Other than that, I think the longest queue we had for Buzz was 20 minutes, and everything else was less than 10 minute waits. I noticed Autopia had long queues as well, but we did that first thing one morning (before 11am) and only had a 15 minute wait.
