First Resort to the Right & Straight Until Relaxation!1/25&1/26 updts!Final thoughts!

I've thought the same thing about Fantasyland - it's really unfortunate for the 1st timers or the once-in-a-life-timers that have to experience that land for the first and/or only time! What a bummer!

Glad that you got to enjoy some attractions and the room didn't take forever to be ready! :thumbsup2

I friend of our from college just got back from taking his kids for the first time! I told him it doesn't always look like that and will be sooo much better when it's done!

We had a nice time at MK but were glad when the room was ready!

25 days until our December family trip and I better kick this baby into high gear if I expect to finish it before then! I hope everyone, although I seem to be a tiny bit low on readers, is ready to go from a People Mover TR to a BTMRR TR!!

I left off with our journey over the very cool bridge to BLT! But first I must back track a few minutes! Until we exited the monorail!

Why, well because when I exited the monorail I realized something! I had to go down the escalator! I had no stroller to get online to the elevator with and the line for the elevator was a tad long! Why does this matter one little bit your wondering? I am terrified of down escalators! I know it’s stupid and irrational. I have no idea why I’m afraid! I’m not afraid of up escalators, just down! It’s one of 3 stupid, irrational fears I have (well cover another at some point ;)) I actually think it has more to do with a fear of falling down the escalator then anything else! I briefly thought of getting in line for the elevator anyway. But DH would make fun of me! If the kids were with us they would too! So, at that moment I decided I was going to try to accomplish one thing on this trip! Conquer my fear of down escalators!

I took a deep breath and crush the anxiety that was starting to build and got on without hesitating! Hesitating is what cause the most problems! I nearly got plowed over at FAO Schwarz in NYC a few years ago by a push man! In my little anxiety driven terror I actually yelled at the guy! I asked him if he would like to push me and my kids down the escalator! He was completely dumbfounded!

Anyway, I was on the escalator and super proud of myself! I pointed it out to DH and he was super proud of me too! Woo hooo!!!

Ok, flashback over and we’re off to BLT!

I had put in a request for a even numbered room on the north side of the building in hopes of getting on of the lakeview rooms that is actually lake and MK view! But, after I did it I thought about calling and taking the request off because the view out toward WL is very, very nice! I left it though!

When I got the room text it said room 7742. That’s an even numbered room but I really didn’t care too much what our view was! Lake and MK or lake I’d be happy!

When got off the elevator the and turned right to enter the hall I realized that MK was behind and if we proceeded down the hall we’d be moving more toward the rooms with a view toward WL! So, we were headed in that direction!

We soon found our room!

Without the kiddos along and DH hitting the bed as soon as we walked in the room I was off around the room taking pictures!

The view!

Looking all the way left...

Looking left, a little closer to center...

Looking straight out...

Looking a little right...

Looking right...

Around the room...

From by the big window

The room was really nice! It also seemed really big! I love how the room is narrower by the door and gets wider as you move further into the room! I love the giant window in the living room! The room, really, all in all, was beautiful! I did notice wear and tear in the room that seemed a little odd for such a young resort! I don’t remember seeing any wear and tear at Kidani and very little at SSR!

I also, somewhere along the way, called for the luggage! I told them I’d like my luggage delivered and I had 2 Owner’s Lockers waiting for as well.

The bellman arrived about 10 minutes later with 2 Owner’s Lockers and nothing else! I explained to him that I had called for my luggage not just the lockers! He was rather annoyed and called bell services on his walkie talkie thing. The person on the other end said that the luggage was on the work order sent to his walkie talkie thing not just the lockers! He looked at the order and said it wasn’t and then made me look at the order too! It wasn’t there, but really, all I wanted was my stuff!

He told me he’d be back in 10 minutes with the luggage, okey dokey! While I waited I sat down on the couch in the living room for a moment to discover that is good awful uncomfortable! YIKES! I got up and moved to the GIANT tan leather chair! Ahhhhhhh! Can I order one of these for home?! I could totally see myself curling up in this chair every night!

Then my comfy bliss ended! The phone rang! It was the bellman! It seems someone had removed it from the cart it was on and left it in a pile on the floor! Fabulous because my laptop and ipad were both in a laptop bag with the luggage, I had nightmarish visions of them being stepped on and rolled over! He wanted me to describe our stuff so he could make sure he got it all! Are you kidding me?! Really?! Now I was having nightmarish visions of never getting our stuff! UGH!

About 5 minutes later he arrived at the door with a cart full of luggage! Luckily all of ours was there and several other pieces that he had picked up because they were with our luggage! Again, really?!

At least we had all of stuff, finally! With that I decided to was time for me to take a rest on the balcony! I sat there for awhile and relaxed and took it all in! Ahhhhhhhhh! I started to doze and decided to go inside and take a nap with DH! I set the alarm on my phone so we didn’t end up sleeping until 8 pm and not being able to sleep that night!!

I woke up when the alarm went off at 4:30 and we quickly freshened up and decided to head to DTD instead of going to MK for the evening! We waited maybe 5 minutes for a bus and were on our way! We discussed what to do for dinner and I mentioned Earl of Sandwich, but DH was looking for something more and a sit down meal. Ok! We entered DTD by Rainforest Café and I mentioned to DH that we could see what kind of wait they had. So we head that way!

But then something caught DH’s eye! Capt Jack’s! He asked me about it and I told him that I really didn’t know much about it other then I thought it was seafood. DH was really happy with the word “seafood!” So we decided to see what the wait was!

There wasn’t a wait at all!

Since we were on DDP for the first half of the trip we skipped the appetizers and ordered our entrees. We both ordered Lump Crab Cakes. The thing was, the arrived about 2 minutes after we ordered them! That seemed strange to both DH and I! After all, you can’t get a meal at McDonald’s that fast! We dug in a little apprehensively and were pleasantly surprised! The Crab Cakes were very, very good! The Cajun mustard sauce that was drizzled on the cakes was a great accompaniment!

We discussed our options for dessert! They had a chocolate cake on the menu was yummy looking. But from where I sat I could see Ghirardelli! Hmmmmm…

I know we had dessert coming to us with DDP but neither DH or I was passing up Ghirardelli! So we were off to shop after the worlds shortest dinner, I swear we were in there 30 minutes tops! We decided to shop off the crab cakes before Ghirardelli. We stopped in Tren-D and looked around. I didn’t find anything that I absolutely had to have so we moved on!

We moved over to Team Mickey, DH was in search of a hat! He wanted either a NY Islanders hat or a Giants hat! There were no Islanders hat and the 1 giants hat they had DH didn’t like at all!

So we moved on again! Off to World of Disney!

My one and only DTD picture!

One stop souvie shopping for the kiddos! Woo Hoo! We basically got everything we needed, or I wanted, to bring home to the kiddos!

Then it was off to a very important next stop! Lego! My kiddos LOVE legos! We had to come home with something good! Luckily, I knew what they each wanted! DD wanted the Lego space shuttle. I admit, when I picked it up I almost put it back, it was $99! Yikes!!! DH insisted that if that was what she wanted that was what we were getting! That surprised me! DH is way more frugal then I am! DS7 wanted a specific Lego Star Wars set and DS3 wanted a Lego Toy Story set that has a garbage truck in it! We were quickly all set and out and off to Ghirardelli for some ice cream!

It smelled sooooo good in there! Yummy!!!

DH ordered a vanilla cone and I ordered a chocolate cone! No, we weren’t adventurous but it was really, really good! Really good!

After our creamy goodness was done it was time for us to head back to BLT!

When we got back to BLT we I unpacked what we needed until we moved on Thursday!

Then I went and got in the Jacuzzi tub! Ahhhhhh! Talk about relaxing! I spent a good amount of time in there kind of floating and soaking. I even had to put some more hot water in at one point because the water was getting a little bit chilly!

That bath was a wonderfully relaxing way to start the trip!

When I was about to get into bed I heard a familiar noise outside!

The Electric Water Pageant!

I watched it from the balcony and took a few pictures! DH watched for a few minutes and headed to bed!

After the show was over it was off to bed! With hopes of Epcot EMH dancing and my head and visions of a plan change dancing in DH's!!

Loved this update!!

What great views from your room!! Ughh about the luggage though, glad you got it all without any of it being trampled.

And shopping at DTD, love it!! YAY for getting the kids the souvies they wanted LOL!!

HMMMMM...Ice cream...I so could go for some right now LOL!!!!

I think the view, bath and electric water pageant have sold me on BLT although in general I'm not a big fan of the furnishings. I guess the key will be to get a 1 bedroom so I have that tub! On that note... I need more points!!!

I have never dined at Capt Jacks so nice to hear a good review of it. Wonder if they've ever considered Capt Jack character meals to boost their revenue... :rolleyes1

Can't believe the non-magic continued with the delivery of your luggage. So glad everything arrived!

Gorgeous pictures of the room! :thumbsup2 Dinner and ice cream both sounded delicious! Can't wait for more!!!

Wow, your room at BLT looks really nice! I've never had any urge to really stay at the Contemporary but I definitely do want to stay at BLT!

Ghiradelli, yummmm! I'm watching the Biggest Loser right now to try and stop myself from eating so reading about your yummy goodness at Ghiradelli was probably not a good idea :rotfl:

That bath sounds soooo relaxing! Definitely a hugeee benefit to staying in a one bdrm over a studio! :thumbsup2

Joining in! That is great that you and DH were able to go alone. My DH and I went without the kids for our tenth anniversary and my boss still gives me grief that we went to Disney World without them. He just doesn't get it!:confused3

lovely afternoon and evening! I've never read a review of Captain Jacks so that was fun, plus I adore crab cakes. Too funny that you skipped dessert for a cone but I bet it was delicious. I love that you could see the EWP from your balcony. Major major ugh on the baggage delivery, that happened to me at the YC, it took THREE tries for them to get it all up. Although our CM was just a dope who sheepishly admitted it and kept going back with a smile so I really had no complaints, I just felt bad for him.

The 1B does look huge, bummer that the couch is uncomfortable though.

Wow, BLT looks awesome!!!! Great view too.

Mmm, I can smell that Ghirardelli smell right now. It is so good. LOL.

That is a great view! I stayed at BLT last January and had one of the lake views that is actually a MK view. Honestly, I think I like your view better. That MK view just has too much parking lot. The straight lake view is much more relaxing. Sounds like a great trip so far! Naps in the middle of the day and a long soak in the tub. Those are things you can't do with kids!

It was a wonderful view! And it gets better! Just wait ;)

I was very happy when the luggage arrived and everything was in one piece!

We had a nice DTD excursion and disney shopping is always great in my book!!

That ice cream was so yummy! I can't wait to have it again!

I didn't think I was a big fan of it either but it really grew on me! Really! I admit, I'd love a few BLT points but DH would have a heart attack! I admit that I'm a snob and have a thing about the 1 bedrooms! I love the space and the tub!!! We could have fit in a studio but I really wanted a 1 bedroom!

I would definitely go back to Capt Jack's if Capt Jack was there! I might dine there several times a trip!

I don't know what the deal was with the luggage delivery! I just glad we didn't have a repeat of our transfer from SSR to WL last year when they lost our luggage! I would not have been happy!

Gorgeous pictures of the room! :thumbsup2 Dinner and ice cream both sounded delicious! Can't wait for more!!!

Thanks!!! I was a lovely room! Dinner and the ice cream were great! It was a nice relaxing evening!

I really, really liked BLT! The room was really nice!

That Ghiradelli's was sooooo good! We'll definitely be back!

The bath tub is a HUGE benefit and totally worth the extra point to me! :lmao: Soaking in there after a long day at the parks is like heaven!!

:welcome: I encounter a lot of people who don't get it but I think it's there loss! If they think they're too good, to grown up, or just plan won't enjoy it then it's more park for those of us how do get it and we'll have a better trip without them in the way!

We really did have a nice afternoon!

I really didn't know what to expect from Capt Jack's but it was pretty good! EWP was so pretty and a very nice way to end the night!

The luggage was a big ugh! Especially because I just wanted to relax and not worry about it!

It was huge, I have to research the room sizes to see how it compares to Kidani and SSR! The chair more then made up for the couch!!!

Wow, BLT looks awesome!!!! Great view too.

Mmm, I can smell that Ghirardelli smell right now. It is so good. LOL.

I really, really like BLT! It was really nice!

That is heavenly isn't it!? DH and I went to Sarasota in March and there was this ice cream shop that had homemade everything!! The smell that came out of that place was the best smell ever!! Ghiradelli smelled almost as good!!

Ahhh, yes the parking lot! We switched to MK view later in the week and you'll have to stay tuned for our (especially DH's) review of that!

Being able nap and take a soak in the tub are very relaxing and felt so good!!

What a great afternoon and evening (minus the missing luggage :sad2:)
I really like your room and the decor....every time I see pictures it grows on me more and more. My boss is staying there in February and I think I had requested a MK view for his family.....I will wait to see your other pictures and then I can always change it. It is for his daughter's 16 birthday and she is such a sweet, sweet, girl. She works with me here once a week helping out :goodvibes
That is so odd about your quick service at Captain Jacks. Well it was good that it was good then!! :thumbsup2 And what a great way to top it all off with an ice cream cone from Ghiradellis and some retail therapy :) I love that your daughter wanted the space shuttle Legos! Very cool :thumbsup2 You should have stopped at Basin for some bath bombs for the jacuzzi ::yes::

It really was a great afternoon and evening!

I'm still really shocked how much I like the room at BLT! I hope your boss an his family have a great trip!

It was really odd that the food came so quickly! I've never been served that fast, ever!

Shopping an Ghiradellis definitely made for a great night!

I thought about stopping in Basin but after my little problem with the bubble bath in January I thought it might be better not to add anything to the water! I'll most definitely be purchasing a few next month though!

Yes it is priceless!! ::yes::

I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :hyper:

I'm glad you have started your report. I would have been scared to death when your plane landed. I am scared to fly anyway. I'm glad you were at least able to enjoy your meal on your first night. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Thanks! I really like to fly but that plane ride was no fun! I'm not sure what the deal was! There was no bad weather or anything to cause problems! I'm really glad we were able to enjoy the rest of the day a little!

Waking up early doesn’t feel as bad when it was proceeded by a good, solid nights sleep!

Being me I was up early on day 2. Somewhere around 6ish! That was ok because, like I said, I had slept really well the night before, and we wanted to try to get to Epcot for morning EMH!

I put my coffee on and hopped in the shower! I took my time getting ready and enjoyed a little time on the balcony with my coffee! I love the quiet in the early morning hours! Especially at Disney! It just seems so serene!

Having a lake view room at BLT proved to be the very best view in all of WDW that morning because shortly after 7 the sun started to slowly rise affording me the opportunity to take this picture…

I went on about my business in the room continually stopping to take a few more sips of coffee out on the balcony! A few more pictures…

early morning boats...

I woke DH up and reminded we wanted to head to Epcot for EMH! He was up pretty quickly and started getting ready!

One more picture of the sunrise around 7:30…

We left the room somewhere around 7:45ish and headed to the monorail!

Of course, I had to stop to take an early morning picture of the view of MK from the bridge…

We reached Epcot a little after 8

and headed straight to Soarin! DH had planned to ride but with his motion sickness the day before and still not feeling well he decided to sit it out! I really had my heart set on it so I went myself! The posted wait was 20 minutes but it was virtually a walk on! Wooo hoo! It was a fabulous ride as usual!

DH and I decided to grab a quick breakfast at Sunshine Seasons! I got a croissant and fruit and I believe DH got a breakfast platter! Everything was pretty good!

Then it was off to Living With the Land...

Then we decided to wonder back toward SSE! But, I had to stop and take a picture of Tronorail!

I failed miserably at SSE pictures as usual! This is the best I got...

By this time it was nearing 11 so we thought about heading to WS!

But first there was business to take care of!! DH had plans to change our plans! His plan involved us leaving Disney property and would entail renting a car! He didn’t want to make any firm plans until he knew for sure we could get the car! He was bugging me to go to guest services to get info on renting a car! I kept telling him that we’d do it on the way out of the park! But I get a little annoyed with being bugged so I found a bench and pulled out my phone! I looked online to see what the rental car companies are at the car care center and then called Alamo! They had a car for Thursday, the day we needed it, and at a very reasonable price! I made the arrangements and gave the guy my info and everything was all set!

Of course, now having the car secured we had more plans to change! So we decided to head back to BLT to get everything squared away via the concierges desk and rest for a night that would be later then I originally anticipated!

A picture on the way out…

Originally, we had planned to go to MNSSHP on Thursday but DH realllllllly wanted to change the plans and was willing to eat the cost of the original party tickets and buy new ones for that night!

I also had 2 ADR’s, lunch and dinner, for that day that now needed to cancel!

The women at the CR concierges desk was very helpful and booked us new MNSSHP tickets, and cancelled our 2 ADR’s, Le Cellier (I still can’t believe I cancelled that!) and La Hacienda! She was also able to get us a 5 pm ADR at The Wave so we could eat dinner before we left for MNSSHP!

Those things taken care of we headed to the room! DH had some things to do online to get the rest of our excursion Thursday planned and I hung out on the balcony for a little while!

After a little relaxing on the balcony I decided it was time to get my bathing suit on and head to the pool!

DH promised to meet me there and I was on my way!

I got towels and found a nice sunny spot and sat a relaxed!

DH joined me about 20 minutes later and we decided to get some lunch! I thought that the pool bar had a wider selection for lunch but they really had barely anything! DH and I ended up sharing a turkey club sandwich and chips! It was pretty good and much better then the turkey at Contempo Café!

With some food in our bellies I decided to it finally time to indulge in our first adult beverages of the trip! We both go Grand Margaritas from bar! Wow! They were good! Wow! They were strong! But, ohhhh soooo good!!! Yummy!

We lounged and chatted, I dozed and sipped! Ahh! This is vacation!! Relaxing!!

I believe I updated Facebook via my phone with this picture…

I also sent my May trip cohorts this picture…

Tracy was amused that I used my Teva Mush as a coaster! LOL!! I didn’t want the drink to spill while I took the picture!

Soon I decided it was time to take a quick dip! I tried to convince DH to join me but he wasn’t going for it!

When I was adequately cooled down it was time for another drink and more time on the lounge chair!

After a few hours, and a few drinks, at the pool it was time to go back to the room and get ready for MNSSHP!

Who knew the Teva Mush had so many uses?

Love, love, LOVE your early morning pictures. Although not sure I can convince myself to get up that early on vacation.

Sorry DH wasn't up to Soarin'. Hope he got to take a flight later in your trip. I missed The Land this trip... will definitely have to go in May.

I'm interested in what you thought of The Wave. I have yet to eat there but really like their natural/organic/local philosophy. And have heard (from Tracy, I believe) that the drinks are pretty good too! :thumbsup2
