Hi,

I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks, and this is my first post. I'd like to thank you all for providing such wonderful information!

My family and I will be traveling to Orlando on July 1st. We plan on visiting Disney world for at least a couple of days and will be going to MK and AK.

We will be staying at a hotel offsite. My question is would it be possible while at MK, to visit the Contemporary hotel and have lunch or dinner? Would we be able to use Disney transportation (monorail) to do this?

To make the question more generic... would someone who's staying offsite and is spending the day at a particular Disney park, be able to use Disney transportation and have a meal at a Disney hotel and then return to the same park?

Again thanks, this site has a wealth of information!!

Hi Joe, and welcome to the DIS!

The short answer to your question is yes, you can!

The longer answer is: you are going at the busiest time of the year, so you should have an ADR for any sit-down meal you want to eat on property. Also, if you are going to the MK on July 4 and you leave the park for lunch, you may not be able to get back in as the MK may have reached capacity.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip!

It probably wouldn't be such a great idea unless you were a) planning on leaving the park around 1230ish to go to lunch and then take a nap, returning to the park when it's a little less crowded

or b) on your way back to your hotel as you're leaving the park...

otherwise you will be very upset that you missed a few hours.

Wow that was quick.

Thank you all for responding so quickly!!

Yes I understand it's one of the busiest times of year, I'll be in Orlando till the 9th of July. I understand in that time frame the crowds will be on a scale of 10, between 8 and 10. I Just want to explore all options. I especially like the idea of stopping on the way to my hotel, didn't think of that.

You all made some good suggestions, thanks it's much appreciated!

Joe

Don't know what time of day you're arriving, but if you arrive later in the day, it's a great idea to plan your evening meal at a Disney resort, especially if you can book a character meal!

It's a fantastic way to get you into the Disney spirit without using a day of your park ticket! :)

And a big welcome to the DIS!!
