I have never in my life been offended by something I have heard in humor. I have found things not funny, but never offensive. The perfect example is the Imus incident. I didn’t find his joke funny but it was just an attempt at humor and should not offend anyone. I am half Polish and could care less if he had done a dumb Pollock joke. People that are offended by humor are just too self centered. If you don’t like a joke just don’t laugh and let the rest of us enjoy a good "special person" joke or two.

My aim with my post was to point out that this humor was in fact highly regarded on television for many years. To laugh at the joke on television and then not when someone repeats the same thing off the cuff is a bit hypocritical. Not saying you are hypocritical, but there is a standard set already that this type of humor is accepted, if it wasn't don't you think this would have come up LONG ago when the show premiered the joke?

That was all I was saying, that if this joke was truly offensive wouldn't that have been discussed on a larger stage when the show first aired it to a much larger audience?
