Hi there,

My fiance and I are planning on having a February 2016 wedding at WDW. I have been in touch with Disney to arrange a phone conversation with a Wedding Consultant. My first phone appointment with her has been scheduled for Monday but I'm wondering....what should I expect of this phone call? If anyone could give me any ideas of what happened in your first phone call with a wedding consultant that would be great. Also, should I have questions prepared? We have a rough idea of dates, venues and guest numbers.

Thanks!

That first phone call will pretty much be the consultant taking note of your preferred date and location and the size of your event. They can work up a very rough proposal to give you an idea on pricing. If you're firm on a date and location you can be pencilled in for it, but this is not a guarantee that you won't end up in a lottery, and even if you get pencilled in first, there is no preference given - anyone who has interest in that date and location would be in the lottery. You can ask and see if anyone has expressed interest when you talk to the consultant.

It's a pretty easy phone call, no need to be nervous.

How were you able to get a phone appointment? I called last week to talk about a Feb 2016 wedding and they won't even talk to me about it until 9 months out from our desired date. :guilty:

For Wishes weddings they will start working with you 16 months in advance. Escape is 9 months and Memories is 7 months.

Yea seriously, this waiting period is driving me nuts! I want to get my date penciled/booked because I want this on our actual anniversary. I have to wait until July to even call since I'm doing an Escape.

On our first phone call, our consultant took down info about my vision for the wedding and also made suggestions. She suggested in that first call that we do our cocktail hour at the Yacht & Beach Marina, which I loved the idea of. She also suggested reception locations since we weren't sure, and emailed me a ton of photos afterwards of what we had talked about.
