Hello all,

Just curious as to what restaurant or treat (snack) that is your first night tradition.

Thanks,

MA

My daughters, 15 and 19, still want to eat at the same restaurant on the first night....Chef Mickey's. We have been going since my oldest was 5. I am still on the fence about this for December....I haven't heard of that many good reviews lately.

Our first 2 trips we did LTT but not this year since they do not have characters anymore. This time we are doing Biergarten but saving the better meals for the end of the trip.

Our first night tradition is a trip to DTD and dinner somewhere out there. We've done Raglan Road, Earl, and Bongos on our most recent trips. We also poke our heads into the candy store, and I let my son get the 3 pretzels, but I can barely get a nibble of them - too sweet.

We like to picnic on the Poly beach with a meal from Captain Cooks & watch Wishes and the EWP!:goodvibes

our first night tradition is to eat at 2 or 3 different bars for drinks and apps at Downtown Disney. We always start with Fulton's and Raglan Road is the other must do. Must have a mai tai at Fulton's (soooo good!) and the calamari, and a Boddington's on tap at Raglan Road!

Last time we also hit Portobello's and it was pretty good too.

It changes this year!

I would love to keep it with Chef Mickey's but this year DD's birthday is check in day so I am taking her to BBB and then we are eating at CRT. :goodvibes

We don't have a set tradition - we try to keep our Disney experiences fresh. But ... we tend to end up at DD that first evening, and if we do a TS it's gonna be Raglan Road, a real treat. If it's a CS kinda night, we like Wolfgang Pucks, the best, IMHO, CS spot in all the World. We like Earl of Sandwich, too.

This year, we're meeting friends at 'Ohana. There will be 9 of us, and 'Ohana is one of those "the more the merrier" kinda spots.

We usually drive straight through from Virginia -- arriving around 4 or 5 p.m. at the Polynesian -- just in time for dinner at the Kona Cafe.

We always make ADRs for around 6 p.m. to allow for travel delays -- but if we arrive early we see if they can take us as a walk-in.

Then we spend the evening at the pool, watch the fireworks and enjoy the beauty of the resort!

We get a good night's rest and head over to the Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning!

We have always done Chef Mickey's on our first night. My DD17 and DS15 have insisted we do it again on our trip in July. :cool1:

We always do Chef Mickey's on the day we arrive. I asked the kids if they wanted to go someplace else this Nov. but they said "No, it is our tradition."

We head to the Poly for "umbrella" drinks and relaxing on the beach to watch EWP.

Nearly Always Teppan Edo. Was closed a couple of trips, but still our favorite first night.

We always go to Boma. We fly from the left coast and I try hard to get a flight with a short layover as the day is already long for us. So that means we are starving, I mean starving, for dinner. Boma is the best place for slapping on the feed bags.

Le Cellier. I ALWAYS plan it for my first night but it won't be so for the next 2 trips. We usually do it on a Monday night (travel day) but August trip we fly in Sunday and aren;t doing a park so we will be going the 2nd day...September trip it is more my best friends trip and I am tagging along so we'll do it for lunch on the deluxe plan (hopefully) on the 2nd day. Sigh...But I have spent my birthday at Le Cellier and also was engaged to there. So it will be on my must do list EVERY TRIP :)

It is usually Le Cellier, but this upcoming trip we are doing Teppan Edo for our first night, since we will be eating in a larger group that evening.
