Ah, ok - that makes sense. Is walking this common?? Or is it showing up more now because it's simply a popular time of year? I saw this back in September too, so maybe I'm just underestimating how common this actually happens

People walk for the fall primarily and for those hard to get rooms especially. You will see this happen all the way through bookings for December.

Ok, thank you so much for clarifying. I knew walking took place, but I guess I just naively thought it took place at AKL value studios and a select few others and that's it. This seems to signal that it is much more common, especially this time of year.

I didn't think it was as common as this data seems to reflect, especially at larger point resorts.

As mentioned above, I've seen this happening on a daily basis since early September for VGF - so does that mean that each of the 30 available std studios are currently being walked by VGF owners? If so, that's kind of ridiculous that 1. members have to rely on such drastic measures to get the rooms they want, and 2. it puts other members at a huge disadvantage that are unaware of this loophole.

Maybe this is what DVC is trying to rein in by continuing to increase the minimum buy in.

Walking has increased dramatically after COVID, likely because of the glut of points in the system. I know I walked my Thanksgiving reservation forward for about a month. It's the first time I have ever walked a reservation. But I also needed some specific unit types, an HA GV of which there are only 3 at OKW, and a Two Bedroom Lock-off, which I wanted to get before the studios were all gone and then no lock-off would be available.

When I logged on to reserve my next stay- exactly 7 months from date- the first day for all resorts except SSR and OKW were unavailable. Any ideas why?

Means all the rooms are already booked
