First night MGM EMH or stroll in EPcot?

We are really having a hard time deciding what to do our first night!!!!

Family of 5 with DD(12), DD(8) and DS(5) and we are arriving around 2pm to check in and relax/swim at the POLY. Dinner at Chef Mickey at 5:30pm and then ?????????????

That night it is MGM EMH and I have heard it can be wicked crowded on EMH. I was thinking we would not see Fantasmic that night as we can see it another night. Then we could do rides and shows while everyone is waiting for and watching Fantasmic. Has anyone ever planned this and are the wait times low??? Since it is our first night I can't see us waiting 40+minutes for a ride or show. We could stay a little later cuz we will be on CST time.

OR.......

Just monorail over to EPCOT (bummer that FW closes at 7pm!!!!) and stroll around WS and watch Illuminations and have an early night.

Please give us your ideas and thoughts about MGM EMH!!! We would love to go but not if it is going to start our trip out on a bad really busy note.

If you do end up at Epcot, the major attractions in FW like Soaring, Mission Space, Test track, and Spaceship will still be open until 9:00 as well as World Showcase. HTH Have a great trip!! Rebecca

Last May when we were at MGM during EMH, it was great. Seemed like everyone else was watching Fantasmic. DH and I went back and forth between ToT and RnR. Very short wait times. I don't know how many times we rode each.

Thanks so much. I had no idea that the EPCOT mj. attractions were open that late. Also, I am glad to hear that RNRRC and TOT are managable during Fantasmic!!

We may just decide when we get there. If we feel like a shorter night at EPCOT or a longer night at MGM.

Anyone else been to MGM during EMH???
